I picked up some Owner hooks a couple weeks ago from Fisherman's Marine in Portland. I haven't used them yet but plan to this weekend. Has anyone had any experience with them?
The salesperson at Fisherman's said they're better than Gammie's (and considerably more expensive). They seem just as sharp, considerably thinner, but they have a flat, knife-like tip that is different than anything I've seen. I wonder about their overall strength. I would rather not have one break in half while fighting a nice springer. Any experience with these would be appreciated.

Owner hooks are good hooks. Both Gamakatsu's and Owners are sharp and are considered high end hooks. If you find a good deal on them, snag 'em! Jack Ip TackleTour http://www.tackletour.com

Owner Hooks are right at the top. You can't go wrong with Owners. Owner,Gammie and Daiichi are the only hooks I will use. After waiting for a bite, you don't want the hook to fail. Don't worry about the extra cost, it's worth it. Owner hooks are sticky sharp right out of the package. Don't touch them with a file, they want be as sharp. Hope you catch lots of fish.

I replace all my Kwik Fish hooks with Owners. They are the sharpest hook Ive used. Never had a break or bend on these hooks. Lightly rub the hook down your thumb. OK, now go get a bandaid Not all hooks are created equal Fool

Owner's are #1... They are the sharpest, strongest hook I've ever used.. Plus their offset is great which in it's self will increase hook-ups... But I sure wish they weren't so spendy, at .40-.50 a wack it get annoying. Keith

I've bent out a few Gammy EWG's on some fish but never the Owners. I like the Owner trebbles for my plugs.
Unless I get free samples, I wouldn't even consider an Owner octopus hook on a river. Probably wouldn't be too bad with what Garcia is doing, as unless he hooks a mean piece of kelp, he probably won't lose too many hooks. I'd go broke in a hurry using those on a river! Spendy.
