Great float rod, which is what it was designed for. The Certified Pro, Vedder Series was designed by the man that "wrote the book" on float fishing. I bought the rod earlier this season and I love it. The action is more to the medium side, which helps casting foat rigs. Regarding Lamiglas' warrantee, it is among the best in the business, especially on their upper line rods (Cert. Pro, Esprite, Titanium, etc..). The Loomis GL3 is nice also, but a little too fast action for a good float rod in my opinion. Not to mention they want about $130.00 more for the Loomis. Even if they were the same price, I'd still buy the Lamiglas.

Lamiglas has a very good warranty, we have had great results with them this year. I like the 1263 from Rainshadow for a lighter action float rod. Sorry TM

Lamiglas has an excellent product and warranty I own 15 Lamiglas, 5 Loomis and 2 TH Rainshadow,s. With Shimmano taking full control of Loomis now (-Gary) I am starting to hear a lot of problems with rods not being replaced under warranty, and I think it will get worse. The 2 TH Rainshadow,s are great rods and TH has an Excellent warranty policy. My opinion Lami or Rainshadow.

Okie boy, are you going to fish floats exclusively with that 10 1/2 footer? If your planning on drift fishing or it being your all-around rod too, it might not be the best choice. I've got a lamiglas cert. pro in the 9 1/2" spinning version 6-10 lb.test as a replacement for a broken imx 1082s. Also have the lami. cert. pro 8-12 lb.test 9 1/2" baitcaster, I think the spin-rod is a bit stiffer than the baitcaster thou rated as a lighter action. As a drift rod my 8-12 seems a bit mushy, with poor transmitted feel on the tap..tap..tap of the lead. The 10 1/2 footer IMHO might be even more so....c/22

i will be fishing float alot, and i have a 9'6 loomis 1143 but i want a longer rod and since loomis has been bought out i dont wanna do any business with them. I will be fishing the skagit exclusively so i need a longer rod and i think the 10'6 would be better.

I own a few lamiglass rods. One since I was a teenager over 15 years ago. They are great, but one thing to consider if you only have one rod is the down time if something happens to it. I had a problem with the last one I bought and had to send it in to get it replaced. You can miss a whole season waiting for it. Other rod manufactures will allow the stores to simply give you a new one right on the spot. For this reason I have been buying the Berkley IM7 from bi-mart. I am tough on rods especially my bank rods. If I ever have a problem even after stepping on one and breaking it or anything for that matter they simply hand you a new one. No rod is any good if it is not in your hand.
