Okay, so I know jigs are worthless , but I am going to be giving them more of a try this year. I have a jig mold and hooks on the way, but can anyone either suggest a book on jigs or point me in the right direction to a website that you have found helpful? Thanks in advance.

Andy, Send me an e-mail and we can hook up. I'll show you how to tie several different kinds.

Andy, its not hard to do. I learned by taking a "Fish Doctor" brand jig and taking it apart to see how it was made. I dont get too fancy, I just stick to the basic painted lead head/ chenille/ yarn or maribou tail type jigs. I haven't ever messed with rabbit strips or anything like that.... I know that the rabbit strip type jigs work really well, i've just never tried to tie them. You'd actually be surprized at the sh!tty looking jigs I've seen catch fish. Just experiment around a bit, you'll figure it out with out too much trouble. Feel free to shoot me an e mail if you have any problems,

Fj, Craven,
You guys have a good time in AK?
I have made a few, just practicing, and a few actually looked....just okay. Thanks for teh tip about the reverse engineering, Zozo. Never thought about that, I'll give that a shot. I figure that it is kinda like tying egg loops. Watch someone tie a few, then go out and tie a hundred or so to get the motions down just right.
Andy

hi andy, when tying jigs, jus make sure you wrap the shank of the hook down about a 1/2 inch or so, it helps when tying maribou, chenille type jigs, bucktail too..jus my input.. **berkley boy**
