The Yakima is out. Too much rain, it'll take at least a couple days to clear up. Sooooo I would like to take the family to Riffe for some silver fishing. Would anyone know if riffe is putting out any silvers? A reply would be appreciated. The Duck

Berkley, Riffe is stocked with Silvers, not Sockeye. When you say sucker meat are you talking squawfish? If so how have you been getting them to bite. I have tried in the past and haven't had any success.

Berkley,
We are camping at Taidnapam this weekend. We'll be fishing out of a Duckworth Kenai (Blue w/ tan top). I have had success with the silvers. But, haven't been able to get those squawfish to bite is what I meant. So, tell me how, and where have you caught the suckers?

I fish Riffe a few times a year and have yet to see a squawfish there. This, I think, is a good thing. There are tiger muskies planted in Mayfield Lake, I believe, for the express purpose of eating the squawfish. I also seem to get a few of these devils in the Cowlitz every year. Now I'll save them and try them in Riffe.

I went up and looked around this weekend. The folks I talked to at the launch did zilch, zip, nada, nothing. Heard rumors of smallmouth being caught at the upper end. The folks at Fish Country are indeed fine people, always helpful, frendly, informative, just nice folks. They think the water is still too cold and I, for one, will take their word for it. Maybe later this month if winter ever ends.
