Does anyone know how big was big?

I was able to fish Saturday without success, and couldn't go Sunday. Saturday when I left, an 84 pounder was on top followed by several between 50 and 75.

The weather on Saturday was a 10! Out at the Rockpile and the 31-36 areas, the water was laid down like a pond until early afternoon. Saw lots of boats but not much action really. Heard a couple of boats yellin', but no gunshots!

We fished hard, fished some choice baits, including some real nice horse herring rigs and salmon skin strips on plastic jigs and only managed 2 dogfish and a cabazon.

The 84lb'er won the derby, followed by a 78 and a 74. There were 549 people entered in the derby, and over 100 fish weighed in, with lots of 20-30lb fish not even checked in.

Someone caught a 125+lb fish at 12:05pm on Sunday and consequently didn't get it to the weigh-in in time to win anything.

Did you do any good, assuming you were fishing of course?

A Guy from Port ORchard caught that 84#er on a Salmon Rod and 30# monofiliment. Thats no crap.

Sorry for the late reply... I didn't fish in the derby, too crowded for me... I got the report from a guy in my fishing club who volunteered there.
