Once again I would like to sponsor the Wind river clean up. With the fish being late and everything this year I would like to set the date for Saturday June 29 th. There should still be a few kickin around to catch and after we pick up the trash we can have a barbecue again. Hopefully this time wannabe ranger Rick won't try and kick us out of the campground. I hope to see all of you from last year there as well as some newcomers. Mark it down on your calander and I will let you all know the final details soon. Peace Superfly

Hey Supa'! (PJ's)
What's the status on this? I need to plan my weekend. I'm a little burned out on the Wind right now, but I think that it's especially important this year since the lady with the access to the lower river is threatening to close it down next year. (Anyone know the latest on this???) Plus everyone I talk to in Carson comments on how us fishers came and trashed their river this year. I'm talking store owners to people who don't even fish. The gamies are even supporting it. We need to do something.

Well folks what do you think? Is it too late to do this Saturday morning (29th)? Can we meet at milepost 7 say around 10:00 to organize and start picking up after the garbage monsters? That will give you a couple hours to fish in the morning (should be some fish left in the system).
What does everyone think?
I will offer up the suggestion on ifish too. (Not stealing your fire Superfly, but we need to get the notice out. Please take over when you read this...)
PS I will get directions to those not familiar tomorrow if this is a go.
Thanks, Wade

I pretty much had given up on this because of the lack of response, but if we can pull it off and make a difference I am all for it. Last year was a huge success with 18 people showing up and we did some serious damage to the trsh that was left there. I will do it if we can get enough of us to show up. Also the word on the lower river from Shepard falls down to the fish trap is that will most likely be closed off next year. This sucks But a few ruined it for all. Peace Superfly

OK folks. Due to overwhelming response I guess the cleanup is a 'no go' for this weekend. I realize everyone is excited about other fisheries these days. (and this was late notice).
I would only ask that if you fish the area in the next few weeks, please take a garbage sack and grab a little more than you pack in. It is going to be a real shame when they shut down the lower stretch on us next year. I pulled a sack out last trip and I will on the next too.
Oh and thanks to those of you who offered to help. If you still want directions the river (and the problem areas), let me know.
Thanks and good luck fishing folks!

Salmon Moocher you are so ****ing wrong !!! I spoke with the landowner and she said she was thinking about closing her property to entry which runs from just above the fish trap to shipard falls on the eastside of the river. Why don't you get your facts Right!!!!! Peace Superfly

I spoke to one of the landowners, and to the state police on the same day. The landowner claimed to own land from the area by the federal Indian gate near the mouth, upstream but not to the hotsprings. The police trooper said the landowner owned a triangular section from the gate at the bottom of the hill, to approximately accross from the hotel, to a point inland. The police also said land upstream had been sold to logging or other companies, and these along with the gas company had easement rights.
Does anyone know the exact status of the land from the county records?
