Back when I used to live in F. Way, we used to catch Salmon, flounder and pile perch. I'm not sure what you can catch there now besides bullhead. Are flounder still edible these days? I just remember we stopped catching them after there were a few we caught with a bunch of worm-like parasites. Also, since they live on the bottom, they tend to be where all pollutants settle down to. This is not scientific but just my opinion. I would be happy to hear any counterpoints as I just haven't kept track of the flounder fishery lately.

it really depends on the area, and I can imagine the waterfront is completly developed so you have a goog chance of catching bad ones but here on the west side you can still catch good amounts of clean ones espicially where there is just no business just houses for miles.

I live a stone's throw away from the pier. IMHO DP is the best pier in WA state for flounders, dabs and sole (dubious distinction?). They are biting good right now so get some squid and head on down. Ooorrr if you want to try for a blackmouth or king bring a few jigs along. Presently the action is slow at best. But you never know.

Action is slow because area 11 is not open till July 1 this year. mad I did hear of a guy catching two kings (28 and 10lb.) from a boat last weekend and recieved a $600 fine for his efforts.
