Put in three long days at Neah Bay this last Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Had a fair amount of wind the first two days, with pretty heavy swell and slop on the outside. Salmon fishing was really slow, we got only five legal fish in three days, including one blackmouth and a 20 pound "white king", which I was told by the checker was of Fraser River stock. Did get some nice lings at Duncan on the slack tides. All salmon came from the Mushroom Rock area. The charter guys were limiting (literally, because most of the clients were ralphing!) by running south to 48-11 (Umatilla reef), too far to go in a 22 footer with 25 knots from the west! Best fish story of the trip was a guy in a cartopper who caught a 38 pound ling on a dipsy-diver and hoochy while trolling near the green can at the entrance to the bay! It's gotta get better next weekend, cause it can't get too much worse!
