Looking for info. I've got a 16 foot sled with a standard forty or fifty pound anchor with bucket off the bow. I'm fishing the Fraser River and need to upgrade to a heavy anchor with bouy but not sure what the correct hookup should be. The Fraser is quite fast moving and my regular anchor doesn't cut it. Are the "Chene" anchors the way to go or what about the "Digger" type for three times the price? And what's the best way to hook the bouy to the boat and how much line should be from the bouy to the anchor. Any help would be very much apprecitated!

Fish,

Call 3 Rivers Marine @ 1.877.661.1575 and ask for Bryan. They have an awesome Big River Anchor System and Bracket for the Columbia style Anchor that mounts on the Bow very securely and is simple to use.

Look into the rocking chair anchors. They are used extensively on the Columbia and the Skeena, both which compare to the Frazier. I picked mine up at GI Joes. It works very well and is much less expensive than the specialty systems you can purchase. Throw some chain on it(6-10'), add some anchor line, a buoy, and tie in a quick loop so you can pick it off your cleat and throw it and you are set.
