PT,
If your a troller you can't miss with a glow/green hot spot 42" of leader with a cop car, or army truck, or green spatterback hooch hangin' off the back. Sounds like the herring draggers did well also, I just hate foolin' with herring when I can catchem' with hooches just as well.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh

It was a fun trip on Friday me and JCW went out to explore the area.

I caught one shaker and JCW caught a couple. But one thing the dogfish there are big must be all the bait fish around.

Though we didn't do great it was still a fun experince and I may go down there in the future.

Like Jeffhead, I am not a big fan of the bait. However, any glo version bait behind a glo/grn hotspot is going to probably get you a hook up. Other than the opener, the Point has slowed down a lot. Fished both last Thurs and Fri and saw two fish caught- one of the dock and the other by a moocher.

Like Blue Creek, I had to try Pt.Defience once anyway. A friend and I went out this morning and I lost one near the surface on a jig, but that is the only salmonid hookup we had all day. Only saw a half dozen or so caught and when we went in around 1130 the checker saw 20 fish for about 100 boats, but one was close to thirty he said.
A neat experience but I think I will stay further north in area 11 from now on, 200 boats in the area the size of a football field, not for me.

I appear to be boatless for awhile mad mad , as the transome on my boat was more rotten than I thought. If anybody knows of a good smaller boat(15-18 ft) and relitively light wieght, outboard, aluminum would be great, please pass on the info. Thanks, e-mail is great too. smile
