There was an article in yesterday's Times that WDFW was meeting with the Tribes today (mon)on a possible opener.

WDFW just updated there Lk. Wa sockeye website the count is at 320K. With still 2-3 weeks of fish trickling in the run should be well over the 350K escapement mark.

Stay tuned and perhaps pick up a dodger at lunch rolleyes .

Oh BOY! Here we go. Now I will be torn on what selected fishing area to hit. Wait, Wait, I know, fish Elliott in the morning then cruise over the Lake WA for the rest of the day.

ok, im pumped! but how deep do you fish these things. my boat dosent have downriggers. i know just to use the standard dodger and red hook but not much else. Will the north end of the lake be good for them? Any info would be appreciated greatly

TTT If my memory serves me correctly, You need to be between 50-75 ft deep. Any weight that will possibly get you that deep will really put a damper on the fight. Downriggers are the way to go. As far as the north end of the lake.... I do believe you can not fish north of the 520 bridge.

Here is WDFW's web page . If they are going to open the fishery it will be in Thursday's paper. That is when the Fishing Report comes out in the Seattle Times.

Easy, good opportunity to flush the salt out of the engine after being at Elliott. smile "Gee, honey, (well, I am married anyway)...gee, honey, I just had to get that salt water off the boat because of how bad it is for the engine and all.....I just figured why not catch some fish as well...."

TTT, the ramp survey report comes out on Tuesday. There could be a little blurb about sockeye on Tuesday if they decide by then. Sometimes if there is an emergency reg change it will be in Tuesday's paper. I am betting it will be in Thursday's paper.

I don't think the outcome of today's meeting whether yeh or ney will be kept secret till Thursday's newspaper articles. My bet is we'll be reading about the outcome in tomorrow morning's paper.

Meanwhile I think I'll go pick up some of Parker's secret sockeye lures tonight..hey hey.
