Where's a good place you'd recommend fishing the Sky in the evening? Due to my schedule, it's hard to make it out there in the morning and be to work on time. It's not that far from my work though and hitting the river from like 6:00pm to dark is very do-able for me. Is Reiter still the big ticket or are there any other spots you guys would recommend?

JF,

Other than the stretch of time from 6:00 am (when Reiter opens on the hatchery side) to 6:30 am, evenings from six or so 'til dark is my preferred time to fish at Reiter. If you fish off the highway side, than it starts at daybreak in the morning, too, but really tails off until late afternoon, early evening.

As the water continues to drop, fishing through the whitewater below Reiter all the way to the Cable Hole can be good, too, especially in the evening as fish start to move up towards Reiter.

How's the Snoqualmie been?

Anyone else notice the "no trespassing" signs all over the Proctor Creek access under the train tressle? Anyone fishing there anyway?

Fish on...

Todd.

I haven't been to the Snoqualmie very often this summer. If I could get there really early it would probably bo ok, but in the evening, it's like a damn kayaker convention.

If you would prefer (like me) a little more elbow room, try anywhere around the bridges in Sultan or Monroe or a few hundred yards down from the Ben Howard launch. You might also want to try Al Borlin Park in Monroe. Might not be quite as "fishy" as Rieter but I like-em.

Yes I noticed the no trespassing sign but still fish there. When you start down the trail it forks after a few feet. The fork on the left has the sign, which I respect. The fork on the right does not have a sign and is not part of the homeowner’s property so you are good to go.

Also if someone really gives you some hell for going down there, just walk Proctor Creek down to the Sky and then there is not one thing they can say because we all know about the high water mark thingy.

I have seen those signs at Proctor on and off for a couple of seasons. I just ignore them and have had no trouble at all. The signs at one point were in the middle of the path as well as a fence blocking the path. I understand the railroad people took them down asked the community association to move the signs.

Another option I would consider would be Hanson's Farm. I'd drive out the dike and pay my $2.00 then walk down and fish the upper riffle, just below the Tulaco boat launch with a float/jig or float/bait for a while then walk down and fish the rest of the bar with spoons/spinners. This time of year you could catch steelhead or chinook. The chinook must be release unharmed of course. There are a lot of chinook jacks in the river now and they can be a blast on lighter gear. This spot will become increasing more interesting over the next six weeks or so when the coho start arriving (coho will be legal to keep after 9/1).

A buddy and I were fishing Proctor a few weeks ago and a lady came down and gave us the "what for." Through all her rambling, she said Greenwater Meadows owns the beach and the parking area under the tressle, hooks being left in the sand are dangerous for pets, and garbage being left behind are a couple reasons why it is closed. I explained there's a thing called a high water mark and people on foot or boat are legal to walk up until that mark, and whether she likes it or not people will always fish that drift, regardless of how they get there(walk in at Zekes).
She said she had paper work to prove that its closed to fisherman...

people like that who move up here and think they own the fricken river make me sick. mad

My advise to anyone who wants to fish it is just that FISH IT!
