fished the skok today, lots of people, little fish, they are getting choked up at the mouth from the nets, saw a nice 28 pounder get caught legally beleive it or not, also watched the indian kid snaggers across from me snag a couple.watched one indian yank his rod and hit his girlfriend in the head with his 2 0z lead and treble hook. knocked her off her stump, they were pissing and moaning about white people being on their side of the river downstream. then they jumped in their beater truck and you could hear the beer cans rattling around as they made their way to the next snagging hole. what a life no work, goverment subsidized, no rules, cheap smokes, fireworks and possible a cut in the casino profits, oh i forgot they don't have a casino, just eggs to sell.. yeh hah

Go during the week and hike up the river before the hatchery. It is nice up there and there are very few people there even on the weekends. There are some really nice kings and the holes are small and hold lots of fish. The thing about the Skok and snaggers for that reason. They will not go very far to "fish". I used to feel the same way about the skok. devine

i fished it both sat and sunday, only thing i caught on sat was a trout on a stick, (dont ask me how i did it, but i did) and sun, i hooked 2 fish, landed one, legally in the mouth both fish, i think it is a fine river except for the native snaggers, they arent supposed to be snagging tho, i even saw some officers talking to them and they couldnt do anything about it, im not sure if they were tribal or not..and everytime they snagged a line from across river they would cuss and mutter underneath there breath, and they werent even there first, ive never seen so much inconsideration for people fishing than there..i will be down there thurs.-sun. anyone else.. **berkley boy**

Berkley I am thinking of heading out there on Sunday.... but the problem is the lack of rain which = very little fish upstream. I kind of want to avoid the crowds a tad. I am thinking in about a week or two. I live in Edmonds now but I have a special little spot(hole) in my heart for parts of the Skok. If you would not mind dropping me a line... cdevine444@yahoo.com when she looks really nice I would appreciate it. Got some real honey holes in that there Skok take it slow devine

I'm going on Fri. I'll post a report and let averyone know how I did. Fri should be a good day as far as the fishing goes.... Nets come out on WED. and the little bit of rain we've gotten will probably push a few fish up into the river. As far as Whitey fishing on the reservation side of the river..... I've had several altrications with the Indians down on the Skok, and everytime I always make it a point to let them know that the only reason they have a reservation is because we wre nice enough to give them one and that if we ever decided that we wanted it back, we'd just take it and they couldn't do a damn thing about it. I've also made remarks about the fact that they are no more than a captive society and that without us to take care of them, the tribes would wither and die. That has a way of getting to them.

Checked the Skokimish out for the first time last night. Lots of fisherman, lots of fish, very few biters. Saw only two fish on the bank, one a huge slab in the 30-40lb range.
Saw a couple fish hooked, the only one landed was foul hooked and I imagine the couple long line releases were foul hooked too.
The real show was at twilight standing on the bridge watching wave after wave of fish cruise up through the shallows. Unbelievable! The surface would just be covered with wakes and then you'd see this pod of 20-30 fish scoot under the bridge.
Now if just a few of them would bite.
