OK, here's my question.......

I take a digital picture.....download off my camera onto the computer.....convert the image to a jpg. (I use Graphic Converter)....then, set the picture aside in a file of my choice.

When I went to add the image in a message, a window popped up asking for the image's "URL"
address.

My question is how do I create a "URL" address?
for the image?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You must first go to the visitors photo gallery and upload the picture to the server.

Then right click on the image and highlight COPY IMAGE LOCATION. Then hit the IMAGE button in your post and paste the image location to the http://.......... Then you image should appear in your post.

that's me alright, thanks. i tried to do the right click deal, all that i could open was the "copy" thing, the cut and paste weren't highlighted so i can't use them( i don't know why, or how to open them). then i went to the image button on the bottom of the posting page, opened it tried to type in my http:/ stuff with no success. eventually i'll get this thing. i don't know which i get more frustrated by fish or computers wink laugh thanks again!

Ok, I'll try my best to explain.

Sushi, By uploading the photo, you already placed it on Bob's server, so half the battle is already won. Click around the sight until you load the page with your photo. The URL is the Uniform Resource Locator. It's that little white area with the http:// in it. If your using Windows, click in there to the right of all the gibberish. Everything should turn blue. Now, press Ctrl C. You have copied the text of the location of the photo to your computer's clipboard. Post a reply like you normally would, and click the image bar. When the dialog box pops up, click in it, then press Ctrl V. This will paste the location text in, and point the BB software your photo. Preview the post to make sure that the picture will appear, and if you see a red X, check to make sure that http:// isn't in there twice. If you're using a Mac, press the command or apple key instead of Ctrl. Hopefully this helps a little. smile

Eric,

The easiest way to create a URL for your photos would be to upload them here to Bob's gallery.

OK,

I'm getting there! But still no cigar. I donwloaded the photo onto Bob's photo gallery and have it saved in there. In the gallery, I went to the photo and highlited the address then copied it.

As I typed my message and clicked the "image" button, I pasted the the photo URL I had copied in the URL window that appeared.....so far so good.

Then, when I went to preview the post,I got the white box with a red "X" through it where the image should have appeared. I don't think the image is too big because it saved in the photo gallery......what now?

Eric

OK I think you went wrong when you copied the URL. When you go to the visitors photo gallery and view the jpg you clicked on Elliot King, this is the wrong file extension.

Over to the right is a file name called up1123.jpg, click on this, highlight the url and then try to post it again.

You should be in business now.

Alright Eric I think I can help you out. Right click your picture file in the gallery section its on the end under the file category; and copy the url address, then when you click the add image button for posting, push the delete key to get rid of the http:// that appears by default, if you don't delete it and you have copied the whole url address you will have two http:// which will cause a red X, then just paste the address and it should work.
Sorry I had the picture posted for awhile. I just realized you probably wanted to post it for yourself in another thread.
