My family has a beach house around Vaughn Bay in South Puget Sound. It's about 20 minutes from Gig Harbor. I generally go up a couple of times in the fall. I'm an avid salmon and steelhead fisherman but haven't taken the time to research this area on where to fish. I have an 18 foot jet sled I'll be using and was hoping someone could provide some general info on areas I can fish for silvers and chinook along with preferred techniques. Minter creek hatchery is only about 10 minutes from our place and Purdy is about 15 minutes. I'm not looking for someone's secret spot, just some general areas to check out with preferred techniques. Any info would be appreciated.

For Kings if you like to troll, the shoreline between Steilacoom and the green can at the mouth of the Nisqually has been putting out some fish. If you like to jig fish the drift right at the green can or across in the rips on Lyle Pt on Anderson Island can be good. For silvers they usually show up in good numbers in mid September and can be had tossin' spinners or last years hot ticket was a watermelon wart around the Hartstien Island bridge.
good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh
