are these reels alright. I just bought one, is there anything you need to do mechanically to them to make them perform better.

is there any places around here that can get old parts for ambassadors. need a part for mine, its an older one but a good one. Ben

I've got a year old Corsair to give away to the first one who spots me on the river....I'll put it in my vest. Take it back Rockfish if its still unused and trade it in on a Curado 201 BSF. Sorry.

I would have to agree, by far one of the worst reels produced by shimano. I have used it 3 times and cant stand it. Take it back...

What type of ambassadeur do you have? I know that The Antique Angler near Puyallup carries parts for them as well as a small reel shop in Puyallup. If you email me the info i will check it out for you. I have had several reels fixed there.

Just picked up a Corsair from K-Mart for 20 dollars on a 75% off deal. I know people have not been too happy with them, but for that kind of money I'll take my chances. By the way, check out your local K-Mart for similar deals. Something to do with their bamkruptcy deal says they have to move some items quickly no matter how much they have to mark them off. I am getting lots of fishing stuff for 75 to 80% off.

Hey at that price buy 6 of them and pack 2 with you at all times...you'll wish you had spent the extra money on quality...especially when you hook the really nice pig of a lifetime....sorry guys...its a nice reel out of the box...but they won't last a season of hard fishing if that.
