My fiances brothers have been involved in setting up the track and also work as navigators for Wildside Racing. They have a '12-6' boat with about 760h.p. I havent seen them run this boat, but was at Willow grove when they were tuning it up just after having it built.Totally impressive. From what I understand its $15 bucks for adults and $10 for seniors, less for kids. If my son wasn't getting married Sat. I would be there.(tried to get him to postpone,no luck) If anybody gets a chance to see this you really should go.Its as exciting of racing as you will ever see.Its a short, track with lots of turns and corners. With the kind of h.p these guys are putting out, anything can happen.Excitement from start to finish. This should be a big boom for the businesses around Woodland.Unfortunately they have gotten a little bad press from the Daily rag out of Longview,And have met some resistance from a certain farmer in the Woodland bottoms. I hear rumors that the guys involved are trying to get the World Nationals also.I will definitely be there. If they pull it off. If any of you have any questions about this let me know.If I cant answer them,I'll find somebody that can. By the way, from what I hear, the way the track is built. You can see the whole track from wherever your watching. Don't miss it!!!!!!

Where can tickets be purchased? I've seen some races on ESPN and it was amazing.

You can buy your tickets at the gate.It sounds like they have it set up to get you off the road and in the parking area where they will sell you the tickets. They are hoping to keep it pretty streamlined. You can get directions to the track, and check out the sprintboat website at www.ussba.org They have a lot of good info on there.

Jet sprinting is huge in New Zealand and Australia. I know there are some tracks in Idaho and eastern WA. Im glad to see one out here in the west. I would be there to watch, but I have to go visit the girlfriends parents on that day .

I love it, boats with rollbars, too cool. Kinda looks like Tim (the Toolman) Taylor got himself a sled with a Sportjet and "re-wired" it Wish I had tomorrow off, I'd be there.

Forget the the drift boat, I should get one of these. I would definitely get to the good holes first. Hopefully next year they can get the world series to stop in Woodland. They only had one truly Super Boat in the Super Boat Class. It would be cool to see the 20+ super boats that show up at the world series. The super modifieds put on a good show.

What I want to know is..
When they pumped the water out of the river how many juvenile salmonids did they kill?? When they "drain" the field as the newspaper said they were going to do, where is all that muddy water gonna go??? Also did the owner of this property consult with WDFW, EPA or any other agency? Or did he just do it?? Sounds to me like Point source pollution..

Rob, If you go to the link above and click on Woodland track info, you can see from the map that the course is along ways from the river. I went to the races, it was dug out in a wheat field, That is ajacent to wallace slough. Wallace slough is a diked and pumped irrigation ditch. Unless they are pumping water back into the lewis, there should be no water quality issues. As far as the pumping issue, out of the lewis, This was at a farm, on ag-land. I don't belive they would have been in any violation of f/w laws. I assume they have a screened intake on the irrigation pump. If not, it's not the races fault, but the farmer's or irrigation district's fault. Please don't be so quick to bash the races. It was a great time, and some very impressive racing. It also would be a great boost for woodland's economy. I could not see any problems with the location, and the way the races were conducted. The only problem that I could see would be the noise, but the trains run through there on the half hour and are as loud or louder than the boats. I think the fish in the lewis are safe from the sprint boats Aaron

I wasn't at the races but from checking out the pictures and what I know of garvey racing on the east coast, most competive boats use dry exhaust instead of wet, for performance issues. Therefore there should be no water quality issues with exhaust oil in the water, even if the engines are two stroke besides a few races a year don't even come close to the amount of pollution that the fishing public creates with their boats.....anyway I'll stop there...but I will say that I was pleasantly surprised to read the number of positive responses...
