i just got back from a walk on the sky by gold bar,i ran across this guy walking by the railroad tracks with a red backpack and fishing rods sticking out of it so i stopped and asked him if he had any luck and he told me that his friend and him were doing good until the warden showed up and hauled his friend to jail for poaching salmon which i was glad to hear,then he asked to bum a smoke and was wondering if i was looking to buy some kings he said he had about 50lbs to get rid of for $9 a lb i told him no but i sure wish there was a way to nail guys like this.i can see taking a fish if you really need it to feed your family but to take them just to try and find someone to buy them so you can go buy beer or whatever is way out of line.it's good to see that there is some enforcment around here,i just moved to gold bar july 10th from minnesota and have been fishing regularly around the sultan area and have not been or have heard of anyone being checked other than this time,i have heard that the wardens are really slacking in this area.well anyway i thought i would let some people know about this by the way excellent website i will be here every day later,Bruce

Offer to buy the fish, meet him at his house the next day , get directions, then call the fish cops and ask thme if they want to go for a ride with you.........

He must have been hard up for cash to charge $9.00 a Lbs. Fred Meyer has salmon for sale $ 3.99lbs. I would have told him that I dont have cash and ask for a place and time to buy the salmon. Call the Game wardens and have them show up for the expensive fish.

I would still call, and tell the story, they would know who the guy was they jailed, and can ask him the friends name, and possibly an investigation.They are sure to have his name etc. too, If he was with the guy!

That is friggin b.s., There is no excuse for that hungry or not!! They can get a paper route, instead of sneakin fish out.It is people like that that screw it up for all of us!

actually they have a new guy up here patrolling since last year i have seen him around quite a bit and got checked twice last year, much better than in years gone by when you never saw anyone...welcome to the neighborhood mud hope you enjoy goldbar its a nice place to live

Welcome to the board mudslinger ... and a kudos to you for helping to keep an eye on things. Poaching fish is bad enough, but turning around and attempting to sell "sport-caught" fish opens up an even bigger can of worms. Hope WDFW finds the fellas ... this would be a case that would need to go the prosecutor vs. the no-bait thing a few weeks back!
