i was just wondering if anybody could tell me what strain of steelhead are in the rivers out here.i just moved here from minnesota and i know that around that area they have at least 2 different strains, the skamania which i believe are the summer run and the chambers creek in the fall, winter. in the lake michigan tribs of eastern wis.the summer runs are compariable in the size of fish,a lot of fish in the 10 to 20lb class which is huge compared to the fish we would get in mn on the north shore of lake superior where you rarely see them over 10lbs(at least mine anyway)i am really pumped up about finally living in an area that supports this size of steelhead i cant wait for the silvers to get up here and the winter run of steel its going to be a blast.so far since i have been here i have only landed 1 native steelhead and 1 evening on the monday before the king season closed i landed 4 kings and lost 1 fishing the skykomish between 6:00pm and 8:00pm all fish came out of 1 hole i could see them chasing each other around the hole and there was nobody even close to me it was fun,all of them were released i usually dont keep kings but the silvers will be a different story.sorry this was so long but man these fish really get me worked up later,Bruce

Right now you are going to see mostly the summer run steelhead in the rivers. Not untill october november will you start to see the winter runs. Yes these winter steelies can get quite big, it should be fun ounce you hook into one. But for now try to get some of those northwest salmon that are in. Good luck
