Any one fish for kings at the Zone? If so, what do you use?

I fished there once this year and didn't get anything. There wasn't another fish caught that day either. From what I hear, it's off and on. One day there's fish caught, the next nothing. Oh ya, pretty much everyone used corkie and yarn I think. Lots of snagging so stay away from that.

Easy,
I haven't fished it...but if I were to fish it I would give the folks as Cushman boats a call before heading over. They have always been real helpful with info and techs. Here is a link to their website. Be sure to check out their fishing report.

Fished there last Friday because I always felt that using Columbia River and river techniques might work. Pulled Warts, Hot N Tots, big spinners, Kwikfish. Tried Buzz Bombs, cast spinners, etc. Saw hundreds of fish up to 30 pounds jumping, some very close to the boat. There were maybe two dozen fishermen in boats and on the bank. Nobody caught a fish that I saw. The fish were mostly dark with an occasional nearly bright jumper. Saw either jacks, silvers or summer chum jumping as well.

A run to Ayock Point might not be amiss-- try to find the fish before they really get lockjaw.

The checker at the launch said he'd checked about a fish for every other boat, so the catching isn't good. He did say that the most successful guy there day in and day out was a troller. That day, the guy's boat came in with two fish for four people...not a good success rate to my way of thinking.
