Fish counts have been great for fish over bonny damn. There should be fish in the lower river system. They have been getting 10,000 plus over dam the last few days. Good luck and don't be afraid to be different w/ the gear!

I just got back from fishing there Monday & Tuesday. Monday fished mostly buoy 10-11 with no luck. My brother (another boat) got one king about 15+ lbs. According to the fish checker our luck was typical on the inside, not much happening. Everyone going out over the bar was getting lots of silvers so we did the same on Tuesday. Silvers were plentiful & good size on the outside (ocean). We kept 5, average of 10 lbs, smallest was about
7-8. Released about 10 other fish, mostly native silvers (up to 14-15 lbs) but also several immature kings & one king about 14 lbs.

Had a great few days in Ilwaco. Finished with 8 chinook, all URB fish, biggest was 42lb. and 8 coho, 12 lb. average. Fished just below the bridge on the Washington side, from the trailer park to the "red roof" in 55 to 60 feet. Used #0 deep Six divers with whole herring. Heres the key...green herring helmets! We experimented with several different rigs but all but one of the sixteen fish caught was with the green. I Always troll with lots of pressure on my divers. Sometimes with the flow. sometimes against. Those of you who have fished this area know what I mean. The best bite was an hour or so to an hour after the tide change, but really didn't matter.
Also, the silvers have arrived in force. Lots of silvers caught and they have grown to beautiful fish. Heard of a 19 lb coho caught today. Good luck. Caution...fresh herring running low as per Ed's bait shop so reserve your bait....DB

Monday my wife picked up a pair of nice coho - I lost a few but when she's in the boat she always gets the first and most rolleyes Saw no other fish hooked however, and all the kings seemed to be gone overnight with the low pressure frown

I went down this AM anyway and it's pretty much over, couldn't even find a coho, water has cooled way off, and fish pretty much have gone upstream, if the crowd at the mouth of the Cowlitz is any indication. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted and at least now I can fish close to home from here on in laugh

I have a couple friends that are fishing thur thru Sunday, as soon as I hear news I will let you all know. They fished it for a week a while ago and said it was slow, even though they did have about 30 hook-ups. Biggest fish then was 38 pounds.

Fishing was pretty good last week, we managed several coho and released some nice kings across the bar. That was on monday the last day it was open out there....

We also managed a 42#er on the 20th of Aug...
