Does anyone know what day the best tide changes take place this weekend would be the best for fishing?
How do you read the tide change books any how?
And can some one please explain to me how to shuck and Oyster?

I don't know if one tide change can be better than another. I could be wrong. I just know to always fish a tide change! I score fish on a tide change probably 95% of the time.

As for your topic question, my buddy fished Redondo yesterday and got two silvers, lost one. Another friend of mine fished the mouth of the Puyallup and got a 28.5# king yesterday morning.

My favorite tide change is an early morning outgoing,within a couple hrs of daylite. I also like tides changes that are not as heavy. Kings are lazy and don't like working for a meal,and I don't need as much lead to hit bottom. I think peak time is an hr before to an hr after a change. If I can't hit a tide that I really like,I make sure to fish some kind of tide.

P.S. If your reading a tide book there's always a page with tide corrections. That means you need to add or subtract time and feet to get the correct tide for a specific area.

If your interested in area 11, this weekend has some great tides. Sat is about 5:30am and Sun is about 6:30am. These are perfect tides for Pt. Defiance,I wish I wasn't painting the house! Outgoing tides right around daylite....AWESOME!

I don't have any reports, but can help with your other questions. Regarding tide changes....during high and low slack its less work for salmon to feed. Along this line of reasoning periods with lower tidal movement are better than periods with larger tidal movement. In general, 6 feet of tidal movemenent (from high to low) or less is a decent tide to fish. Now if the tide change happens to coincide with the sunrise your chances of hooking up get even better.

Here is an excellent "how to shuck an oyster" description. Note: when I shuck em I put them on a solid surface and use an old towel to protect my hands. It sucks putting an oyster knife into the palm of your hand!!!

Easy Limits

I fished Redondo, Dash Point, and Browns Point all morning yesterday. I saw no one catching anything all day. What were you using and how deep were you? It has been real slow for a while. What are they using at the mouth of the Puyallup?

My friends and I have been fishing very shallow, right on the surface. We use a green/glow Hot Spot with white/glow hoochie 18-24" behind the Hot Spot. Use herring oil too.

You don't even need 'riggers to catch fish off of Redondo. We use 8oz. banana weights with no more than 40' of line out. Caught a 15# king with this set up last weekend.

Fished last night at Southworth and finished up at Dolphin Pt. Scratched 2 tiny shakers, that's it! Didn't see any nets out from other boats either. Slow, very slow.
