The garbage problem on the carbon river is at it's worst, the bad part is that it has only been open two day's. You would think people would pack there crap out just like they pack it in. You don't see them leaving there fishing poles or gear there. They even take their snaged fish. But they don't take there BEER CANS or GARBAGE. These people should just stay home and let the people who enjoy the outdoor's do the fishing. mad

Why stop there. You can add the Kalama, Cowlitz, Toutle, Skokomish, Wynoochie, Satsop, Humptulips and any number of rivers to that list. Sad thing is that this trash ends up in the rivers when it starts raining. I always bring a trash bag and try to clean up some before I leave, especially the fishing line. It gets worse every year.

Whenever I go river fishin I ALWAYS take a large garbage bag and remove as much as I can. A buddy of mine took out three or four large sized hefty trash bags a few years back. Hope ya all do the same...

That's the main reason I won't fish up in the combat zone. Seeing the stuff that goes on up there ruins the experience for me. Unfortunately, the snagging, littering jerks you see out there probably don't read, let alone read posts on this board.
I guess I'll have to remember some green bags in my backpack when I go down to the Carbon.

Newbie, try a splash of chartrues yarn with a tiny orange corky. Worked for me this weekend. I couldnt agree more about the garbage. I carried out 32 lbs of fish and 15 lbs of trash on sunday. Makes ya want to puke.
