Run a double glow hootchie with a small herring strip on the teazer hook 36" behind a HotSpot flasher. The herring strip is a MUST. I use a double 4/0 (barbless, of course) set up. Use 25-40lb mono for your leader. The experts say to run 40, but 25 seems to work ok, too. Run the hotspot no longer than 18' off your rigger. Start at 30' in the dark am and get deeper as the morning and light progresses. Run the riggers at a 45 degree angle. It's a pretty good clip. You can never go too fast for slivers.

Or, if no riggers, run the hotspot 24" behind a delta diver. Go out out about 6 swaths on a 6500 reel (approx). I like to run an Ambassadeur 6500CL Big Game spooled with 25 Ultragreen on an Allstar 962.

Fish near the can. It's really just that easy. Heck, even Wayne can catch a keeper fish this way! Well, not that I actually saw Wayne catch a keeper fish...I had to leave early.

Simple setup is a chrome dodger with a white squid 18" back, no bait, no herring strip, no nothing. Troll any speed to make the dodger have action. This setup nails silvers consistantly.

I would try a coyote spoon as well in case they aren't biting the hootchies. Cop car has been working for me. Also, buy some herring scent smelly jelly. If the herring strip comes off the hootchie, you still have some scent on your lure.
