Has anybody been fishing at Quilcene bay?? I read the WDFW creel reports for 9-8-02 and they checked 16 boats with 19 coho avg. 8 lb. Thats better than any of the other reports in there. Plus a four coho limit. Can anybody tell me where a boat ramp is on the bay.Improved ramp or unimproved Im not picky. Thanks

There's a boat ramp in Quilcene right where the action is.....just head down to the marina....you'll see the boats....just close your eyes when you cross the river though eek !

It's a single lane launch. No charge. Park wherever you can, but watch out for areas posted "Private". There's public restrooms in the Harbormaster's office building across the street from the ramp.

Does anyone know if this ramp is usable at a 0 low tide. This weekends morning tides are real low.

Low tides shouldn't be a problem for you. laugh You can also launch at the shellfish lab at Point Whitney in Brinon....4wd drive only though.

fished last friday in the bay had a great day, was there yesterday and i would have to say 75% of the fish have left the salt water and are now in the river.ones that are in salt do not seem interested in biting. we got our fish by beaching the boat and walking the river

Try green or any pearl colr buzz bombs right on the bottom where you are seeing fish on the surface. Drop down to bottom and crank up a couple feet...flutter the BB lightly. You can toss large vibraxes or Krocodiles at the surface fish. Good luck!

Maybe I'm missing these fish this year. I fished real hard around Hazel Point and Big Beef last Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Put in 30+ hours and not one good hookup. Not even seeing jumpers. Tons of bait though.
I know how to catch these fish when they are in these areas. Is it crazy to think the silvers have already passed or have they just not shown up yet? The last couple years out there have been just phenomenal (sp) and this year I feel like a rookie. Maybe some have trickled into the bay because I'm hearing of fish showing up there but I'm hoping the bulk of the run is still out in the straits. What gives?

They've been stacked in Quil Bay for a couple of weeks now.....thinning out but you'll still find fish between Frenchmans Point and the marina.
