Well, I went and fished the shoreline between Mukilteo and the Shipwreck. I did not enter the fleet of boats off the shipwreck, only fished North of that where there weren't many boats.

Not many fish where I was, only got one silver. I suppose I should have fished in that pack of everal hundred boats off the shipwreck at Picnic Point and then I would have hit all those silvers but I just wasn't up for the combat fishing today. At least I assume fishing was really hot to attract that quantity of boats.

No fish in the Everett to Mukilteo shoreline either and I heard Hat Island was slow.

Maybe the rain that's coming will bring in the fish. If not, then they must have underestimate the run since it's been pretty slow for mid September.

On the other hand maybe I'm not using the hot lure. I was using hootchies and a hot spot with a 24 inch leader.

Didn't fish today but had a customer come in to show off his 14 lbs. silver he took off Shipwreck this morning, dandy fish, biggest silver I've seen or heard of locally.

Friday, hit the water around 6 am, kept 16 # , 14 #, 11 #, and 10 # silvers. Released at least a dozen 10 # down to 4 # and several 4# and under. We only lost one fish, probably around 8 #, We were back in by 10 am. It's hard to convince my grandfather to release the big ones, he won't accept that the small ones taste better. We fished a couple spots in 8-2, I can't tell you where, but we don't have another boat withen a mile of us any time our lines are in the water, and all the fish we catch are in less than 60 feet of water and out gear is rarely down below 30 feet, tip...stay withen casting distance of shore where ever you are fishing and don't use bait. I've had this same productivity on silvers since mid august, 3 or 4 times a week, and every summer since I've been fishing. Remember... "Stay close to shore" and away from fresh water.

I went out Saturday afternoon and started off the east side of Possession Bar and got a 3 lb silver (I agree with the earlier post that the small coho taste dandy). We moved over to shipwreck and started trolling north and about 1/2 mile up I got a small king 150' down, good fighter and he went back in. Then the other downrigger went off at 90' down and we got about a 10 lb silver that my 7 year old got to battle. I seem to get all my fish headed north over there, within an hour of tide change. I went home very satisfied.

I went out Sunday and we got one to the boat, but not in it, Probably around 6#. Little guy felt like hiding out right in-between my outboard and hull until he bit through the leader. All attempts to get him out of that spot and land him failed confused frown

That was the only fish we saw for any of the bajillion boats out there Sunday. Where the hell are they...were they???

Hey Assistant Baiter, can you shoot me an email?? I would like to chat with you about a few things wink .

Went to the Rush concert at the Gorge on Saturday. It ROCKED! Literally. wink

Got up that next morning and went to Portland to see them again!

Stopped off at the Bridgeport Brew Pub and paid hommage to their IPA!

Oh yeah, stopped at Bonneville along the way and checked out Larry, the 9' sturgeon. They claimed he was 11', but I doubt it. Although they said 25,000+ fish were going through the viewing windows, didn't see much when I was there. Highlights in the 2-3 minutes I was there, saw one nice 20+lb. nate steelhead and a 50+ boot-dark tule.

We fished Sat and Sunday. Started at Shilshole and fished north, caught a pair of 7-8# north of shilshole quit a ways out from shore, at about 60' with green flashers and green squids. We fished up to Edmonds and then scooted across to Possesion Pt. No action until the sun was down then hooked into a screamer and lost it when he turned around and screamed back to theboat.

Sunday morning fished possesion abit and boy there were a ton aof boats between possesion and mukilteo etc. No action and we did not see anyone else catching. Went to shipwreck and trolled south. Did not hook up again until in the same spot as Saturday where we lost one. Monitored 68 and did not hear of too many fish caught, a few at 90' in front of the oildocks. We caught ours somewhat south of there, where no one else was even considering fishing! Seems to be a lot of fish but finding them in the mood to bite is another story. Hope the rain helps, we will be back out this weekend.

It is heavy, but it's a ball to fish with and it puts the hurt on the fish.
