I have a pair of Diawa 47LC reels that have very few hours on them. While fishing the Columbia for salmon this season both reels have given me fits. They labor to reel in a K-16 Kwikfish and if I have a jet diver on too, they need to be horsed even harder. I have caught fish in the mid 20# range but the problem seems to be getting worse and on a recent trip to the Hanford Reach, I ended up using a friends setup as I didn't trust my own. My friends tell me the reels are just crappy but I can't really believe that. Does anyone have a similar experience?? What should I do with them?? Thanks..........

I have owned some High dollar Diawa reels and had problems with them so I sent them in on my dime several times each time they would come back and have the same problem .I WILL NEVER OWN ONE AGAIN!!!! threw them in the garbage if you cant trust them you cant use them $400.00 dollar lesson!!!
