Went out fishing with Mike (webmaster for WashingtonLakes.com) this morning. We put in at Shilshol(sp?) and started fishing Meadow Point around 7am. We were pulling hoochies behind a flasher with a hering strip. Depth was 45 to 55 feet. Mike had his sons along so we limited with a total of 8 fish. 6 silvers and 2 chum. The chum were natives 14 and 16 lbs apiece. The first one freight trained Mike and took him to his backing before turning around. What a fight. We were off the water with 4 dungeoness from the pots I dropped. Overall a great morning. The fish checker said that of 23 fishermen out and back that morning including us there were 21 fish caught. Looks like we made up a third of them! laugh I plan on coming back. Tight lines!

Very nice! You guys made a good haul.

Chums, huh? I saw one caught in the Green on Monday. It was in full spawning colors. Surprised the heck out of me and the guy who caught it (he did not even know what it was). laugh

Yeah...Mike thought it was a silver at first because it freigh-traned him. Took him into his backing. This one was only just barely getting some striation on the sides and was bright still. Only a couple of 'teeth' showing and not too developed yet. You fishing the Green today?

No, did not fish the Green today. Fish are pretty scarce with the nets in. My buddy Barry did fish it and got a 7lb silver on a homemade spinner. eek

I won't have a chance to get out again till Friday afternoon.

I fished the Duwamish this morning. Like EL said, there aren't that many silvers in the lower river, yet. At dead slack tide, some old kings and a few bright silvers started to get active. I saw two 3 lb. silvers taken, and one king released. There were lots of fishermen on the river. Maybe it will pick up after the nets are pulled.

Easy,

Is your friend Barry fish from a Boston Whaler and own a fence business? If that's him, I know him too. A damn good fisherman he is.
