With all the reports of snaggers. How about a photo gallery that these hosers can be posted, as the scumbags that are seen when you make a trip to the Post Office.

I dont carry a digi. camera on the river but I do have a camera. "hey smile smile , Im gonna make you famous wink ". Along with river name--well area--date, lure-(sparkplug with treblehook, 3oz with a treble), fish was hooked in the arse-ya know-all the info.

My thought is that for Flotilla 7 we all get together and put down some concrete blocks with steel 1 inch cable running between them, right in all of the snaggers favorite fishing holes. One foot below the surface, twenty foot lengths. We could have monthly parties to divvy up the terminal gear laugh

If you do have a digi camera you could sit across the river and take pictures of the snaggers with no gear left in their box, a pissed off look on thier face, and a bent pole sticking into the water.

D--------------~----------------D

We will see who snags who.

any other ideas?

if it is a terminal fishery, and the hachery has all the fish it need to make little fish why not let people pull the fish out any way they can they/we paid for them

Then why not catch them the right way? Or why not just let someone dynamite the hole and split the fish evenly to the crowds?

The main problem (of many) I have (my selfish agenda showing) with snagging, is that the fish become so spooked and harassed, that it makes it way harder for the legit guys to catch them. Would you start getting a little gun shy if every second of the day you had hooks ripping past your head and ripping your buddies away left and right? If folks would just stop being so dang lazy and greedy, and actually try to learn how to fish, then legit methods of salmon fishing would be much more effective for everyone.
If everyone is just in it for the meat (because they paid for it) then why not let the hatchery catch the excess fish and give it back to those who just want the meat and don't really care about the sport of fishing for them? Maybe they could even put up a drive through window. Keep all the greedy meat hogs (sorry the poor fellows who are trying to feed their 10 kids) in the free fish lines and off the rivers harassing the fish and trashing the banks and making it a pitiful place for a true sportsman to want to hang out...

AMen Phishy Phreak! Do you think those fish want to hit the same thing that has been flying in their face for hours upon hours??? This is the reason I fish the pennisula. No snaggers(I have not seen any in the 3 years I fished up there) and less crowds. Hey Phreak did you here about New years MSG?

Oh my Gawd....we drove to the Quilcene last weekend to see if it was worth banking it.
What a nauseating site that was. Shades of Deliverance with a bunch of backwoods hicks using every means at their disposal to yard a fish out of the water.
I especially envied the guy with the treble reeled up to the tip of his rod, probing it under the root wad where the fish were trying to hide. Periodically he'd yank it backward, trying to snag one. ( "But lookie, Officer, it's hooked in front of the gillplate, so it's legal, ain't it?!" )
Yup....I'd like to bring him home to my mama.

Yeah, I had to jump off the puter & go get dinner but I thought the show up there was a little obscene.
I don't think I will be going back there any time soon.
I guess ther's a reason they'r called Quil-Billys.

Grumpyr,
Sorry I did not clarify.... Forks area rivers. The skok is the in my opinion the most evil river in this state. I am not sure what is worse the snagging indians or the "fisherman" that snag and still complain about the indians. Pretty funny if you ask me. I am staying in my boat this weekend. No snaggers out there./ Question..... I was in Grays Harbor last weekend and the wardens pulled me over to check our licenses, then he checked our gear. What the heck were they looking for?
peace

Devine,
where you fishing prior to being pulled over or did the wardens just appear out of the blue?I've been hearing stories of the fish-cops setting up video surveilance on as few as two fisher types at a time. they must'v gotten some grant $$$ or something.
Maybe you look AL-QUADA suspicious or some thing. Seems odd though that it would be wardens pulling you over if there wasn't any clear connection between you and the priveledges of your license. :p
