HEY DROCCO,
ive hit it like 4-5 times in the past 2 weeks, and from my experience is, we need rain to push some fish up, sure there are some in there and few get caught, most snagged, ive seen some silvers landed and a few jumping also..water needs to clear up a bit, ive had a few on, but lost them due to improper hook set..where will you be fishing? bb

I don't seem to be having any problem catching fish on either river..The fish are there and yes it is running real muddy but just think scent..With the color of the water slow your presentation down..Try going as much lead as you can without hanging up to often..When the water clears some just free drift eggs with little to no weight..Hope this helps, TM

Even with the nets in, I have caught fish every day that I have been on the Puyallup. It is pretty slow, however. And we definately need a good rain. I like the idea of more lead for a slower presentation. I have been using a very minimal amount of lead for a good feel on my line, but I'll give that a try. My go-to scent has been "Shrimp Salt Glitter" Smelly Jelly.

Tight lines and good fishing!

Now that I got the hang of this posting pictures stuff mad . I propose a special fishery to comenorate the discovery of a new species.
The Carbon River Summer Run King Steelhead, (or something like that) was recently discovered by a bunch of Trout Fishers who just happened to be exploring that river for Trout. (I can also put you on to some good deals in swampland).
This should illustrate the proposed new season........

Rock on .....

We hit the carbon today. Kinda slow. Saw 3 guys hook up and 3 guys snap off. No wonder the way they horse the fish in like it's a matter of life and death. A few jumping here and there. Looked like chocolate milk and running low. Everyone i saw that landed a fish or hooked up had a small orage corkie with flourecent yellow yarn. Seems to be the top choice of setups cuz there were a good 20,000 setups with these same colors stuck in all the trees eek . Puts a whole new meaning on the word "snaggers". It's like a bunch of Christmas trees on the river. laugh

I was there Friday and saw a beat up king and a couple silvers on the bank. There were a few hookups, but they were all jack silvers. Looks like it was the small ones that made it through the nets. Nothing of any size. I wonder if we're going to see some big silvers like last years run. A good shot of rain for a day sure couldn't hurt.

i fished the nisqually sat, hooked 3 landed 2, and fished the carbon, foul hooked and released one, saw a few smaller jacks caught, and a few other fish caught, my scent of choice has been the pro-cure prawn/shrimp scent, excellent on steelies, but kings are a differant breed, however i did score about 12 bottles of the new pautzkes krill scent, which hasnt hit the market yet, im gonna mix a few of them with the procure shrimp scent and see what i get.. bb
