How's everybody doing on the Hood Canal for silvers? I mainly fish Big Beef and Hazel Point areas and the last few times I've been out there the fish just haven't seemed to show up yet.

Here's a pic of a king I C&R'd from earlier Sept.

I don't have any problem with letting beautiful fish loose whether it's the law or not, but can anyone tell me why there hasn't been any fishing for summer kings north of Ayock point for the past several years? I catch quite a few of them fishing for silvers pretty late in the year so to me it seems like there are quite a few out there.

My guess is that the WDFW wants to protect Puget Sound kings that may stray down there while on their migration. If this is the case, I doubt if it is very effective, but our state does like to do things like that. Thank-you for the reports on Hazel Point. How late in the year do you fish there??

I usually start catching silvers right when it opens on Sept. 1st and they usually last until October. When they are in they are really in and catching in recent years has been real good. This year has been an ecxeption though. I can't seem to get anything to bite except shakers and there are a ton of them out there.

Anybody else having better luck than me? I haven't been out there for a few days so maybe they are in now.
