just park behind the k-mart on river road (you'll see a small satalite dish on the roof, just park in that area and walk down to the river) the silvers are in there pretty good, i caught my limit in 1 hour!, i was using a red corky w/pink yarn. have fun.

Don't live or fish anywhere close to your area, but having been a part of this board for awhile, I doubt you'll thrill too many of your area fishers with that post.

Puyallup is a big river....
plenty of places to fish...
Plenty of fish.

I think from time to time you should tell people where some good fishing is. It 's good to help new fishermen and open some other fisheries for people that are trying to find out how to fish this area.

When I started fishing in the area... I wish there were some more spots that people talked about.

With a river like the Puyallup you aren't giving away any zippers.

My .02 cents wink

there are no secrets, but i just get tired of the idiots that stand in the hole up to their pocket of their chest waders near the end of your drift. it's just rude for people to step in at the end of your drift and walk 3/4 the way across the river. mad

Just load up with 50lb tuff line and drift into them. Feel a bump?
Rip away like everyone else does.

Why is this a bad thread?!?

Have you fished the Puyallup? There are a lot of idiots who wade 1/2 to 3/4 of the way across the river to fish. The idiots have fish rolling BEHIND them! They see some fish roll on the opposite bank so they wade way out there. That continues to push more fish that way. It makes it impossible for guys in hip waders to even fish, and eliminates over half of the drift. One guy told me that it is easier to hook 'em when you have less line out. This is after I see him snag and keep his THREE adult fish of the day! I caught my two fish, hooked in the lip, both on the near 1/3 of the river that day.

Last week I had a hit on my line and instantly knew that I foul hooked a fish. I got him in as soon as possible, and he was a beautiful chrome hatchery buck weighing at least 8 lbs hooked in the tail (oops). As I was making sure that he was fully revived before I released him, some guy walks over and asks why on Earth am I releasing such a nice fish. After I tell him, he seriously asks if he can keep it!

And while I am *****ing, what about the idiots leaving all of their trash? I pull two trash bags per week out of a 200 to 300 yard stretch of river that I usually fish.

And although I do not pay too close attention, I cannot remember seeing a single fisherman record their catch before they bonk and are back in the river. Hopefully a WDFW officer is reading this. Come on down to any hole and check the catch record cards of guys with fish. Most of these clowns will catch two adults and keep on fishing. Read the regs dumba$$, you're done when you retain two adult fish in the Puyallup!

I don't know about you guys, but I am getting really sick of these inconsiderate littering poachers on the rivers.

I am done now. Sorry, but I needed to vent a little.

Tight lines!

I second your rant Cowboy. Why are fisherpeople the messiest outdoor user group around? Today standing at the bottom of a drift with about 10 people above me, a empty pop bottle floats by everyone. They just look at it as it goes by and I grab it and shove it into my vest. It really isn't that hard to pick up our own trash and do a little bit to pick up the other slobs trash too. Keep up the good work Cowboy, there are people that appreciate it.

I'd like recogmend that hole behind K-Mart, it is a good place to fish, I caught my limit there this morning in less than an hour. It is better fished from the Fife side of the river though. Just remember to pick up some trash from the grassy area that everyone parks at or the Landowners will close it down.

Let's face it. If you get out there in the morning, you WILL catch fish Behind K-mart, The Fred Meyer bridge, the gravel bar behind the Puyallup executive park bldg, Antons, etc.
IT'S ALL GOOD BABEEEEEEEEE!!!

Anytime somebody can be anonymous, the real person that nobody sees comes out. Sad but true...

That's why the Porn industry on the Internet is the biggest commodity.

Kudos to you guys for raising the standard out there in the Puyallup. I was there yesterday and I always feel I'm around people that don't totally care about the river as their own, but that there at somebody else's river and they are taking a little bit of the action on the sly.

The only way that will change is if more guys do the trash bag thing and act a little unselfishly.

But I warn you... they will always be the minority. Men in their nature are selfish.

I was up on the carbon yesterday from Bridge street down a ways. I was suprised how little trash there was.
The little I seen could have been there at anytime due to the local kids in the area.

Now the rednecks who line the bank with kids and their snoopy poles is another story. Seen one guy get a king and while he's fighting it I look up where he was and there's a whole inbred family that had slid right in where he was at.

If nothing else it's usually interesting down there.
