PowerBait nuggets? Has anyone tried this method/bait for steelhead and or salmon, maybe it's just something that they dont get alot of? If you guys can back up this, then i'm stockin up!

I don't use them, but a fishing partner of mine uses them exclusivly. He usually wraps them in mesh and fishes them with a cheater or corkie with fantastic success. One day on the Cowlitz he had 4 winter fish to the boat before I had my first fish on eggs. At the end of the day we were even on fish, but he was ahead on eaze of baiting and overall cost. I know of two 20 lb fish he's taken on the Snow using powerbait.

Ive seen it work on summer steelhead out here but havent tried it.

Ive taken summer steelhead and fall chinook with powerbait.

For steelhead I did pretty much what it said in the article. Power Bait Nugget behind a corky.

For fall chinook I used the raindbow power bait and plunked on the bottom in some holes in tidewater. I rigged up a standard drift rig with 2 large corkies and yarn. I mashed the power bait into the yarn. The salmon would inhale the corkies and power bait. I did so well with it I was accused of snagging.
