Whats it worth?
I want to bid on this one but I 'm afarid for me to win I will have to be in the upper $200.

I look at alot of reels on ebay,I think that one is over-priced. Without the box and papers it loses collecters value, are you going to fish that reel? Most likely not if you have 2 bills into it. I'd pass, but its your $$....c/22

that reel is in great shape, but as c/22 noted, it does not have a box or the paper work so i would tell you to pass. they come up quite often. i would keep looking. good luck.

related question: I have a 201SG with a inoperative level wind. Ollie Damon's can't repair it and I wonder who out there can? I hate to retire it early...

Not sure of the name but there is a place I heard in Sumner where they repair and service these reels.
Maybe some one on this board know the name of the shop..

Yup, the antique angler in Sumner. Guy does excellent work on all old models.

I'd say 2 bills is a bit much. Unless like above, it's immaculate with original box (hell, I'd want original reciept as well lol). You can find them between $70-120 pretty easily, I'd pass it up.

Lessee, no collector value, and G.I. Joes has 5501C's on sale for $59.95 plus tax. I know which one i'd buy.

If you want a Shimano, and they are generally good reels. a Curado will cost what, about $115? I say, let the poor sucker who's bidding $162.50 have it.

I believe Shimano sold tens of thousands of those reels, thus I doubt they're a collector's item. If you're going to use it, then it's an even worse proposition since it lacks all the modern amenities. I also say pass on this deal.
