I just won a deboning tool called Wunder Boner on eBay. I remember seeing their ad on TV some time ago, but that was a while back. It says on the package (it even comes with an instruction video) that this is specifically made for deboning salmonoids. Has anyone used it?

I have no tused one . But I did see them demostrating it at the puyallup sportsmans show and few years ago. they using it on 2- 3 lb trout and it seem to work pretty good . the guy doing the demo could debone a fish in like 20 seconds . I almost got one but then I had checked my wallet and found that I already spent a few hundred bucks !! Let us know how it works for ya when you get it!!! I might have to get one yet!!

I remember seeing a lady demonstrating one of those at my buddy's bachelor party. I'm pretty sure she said it was a wunder boner, but I'm not sure how it would work on a salmon.

I knew some smart aleck would make such a comment, but I can't blame them...with a name like that. Well, you may have to wait a long time if you're waiting for me to catch a fish to use the Wunder Boner. I hope I'm wrong though...

On a more serious note- when I used to live in Oregon my neighbor had one. (the tool) He used it on trout and said that it worked great. I never used it though, so can't say first hand.

Sorry about the earlier post, I just couldn't resist.

No big deal SS. Good to hear that it worked well on a trout; I'm hoping it'll work as well on a 85" salmon I'm wishing to catch this month. Any other users of Wunder Boner?
