Get a custom Rainshadow HS 1023c 8'6" 12-25lb. TH can build you a killer rod for around $160ish with SicTi guides.

www.thcustomrods.com

Put on a Calcutta TE 401 and you have the sweetest system around cool

Here's what I'd recommend for someone fishing out of a drift boat what wants to backbounce and plug for salmon and steelhead.

Steelies:

Fenwick FS93c or the larger FS95c. I use the FS95's on steelies with no problem. Forget graphite when pluggin' for steelies. Go with fiberglass.

Allstar Elite 1025c or Loomis GL3 1025c casting rods. Always have to have a casting rod. This will work for both salmon and steelhead.

1141s are great boondoggin' rods, but I'd probably recommend a 1082s or 1083s spinning rod, as one doesn't really boondogg in a drift boat. You want more or a side drifting rod for that. Allstar Elite or Loomis GL3 for those.

Never backbounced for steelhead. If I did, I would use an Allstar Elite 901. Great rod to pitch wiggle warts at coho, though. wink

Salmon:

Allstar Elite 962 plug rods. Great rods for Kwik-fish and other plugs on salmon.

Allstar Elite 967 backbouncing rods. That'll slap around any salmon!

Bring the 1025's, as you can use those to hover fish, pitch warts, or do just about anything for salmon with them. Great all around rods.
