I was there with my flyrod in the afternoon after giving up on the ducks and geese - gale force winds blew me off the Willapa about it. Damnest thing I've ever seen - it almost makes me want to get out of my boat and fish off the bank more often <img border="0" alt="[wall]" title="" src="graemlins/wall.gif" />

Excellent Spawnout, nice report! Good to hear about good people fishing a good area and having lots of fun. That is what it is all about!! I have past Kennedy many times and have yet to stop. Probably because I had been fishing the Zone all day and my arm could not handle another rod busting chum. Some day I will stop and check it out on my way to the Zone.

I was at Kennedy creek also this morning for a couple hours. I hooked one and saw a few landed but it was by no means hot on the incoming tide. You guys must have really wailed them after high slack. I wet my line elsewhere and had a good day. Maybe I'll neeed to fish it again on a high slack or outgoing.

FINALLY!! A report about fishermen(women) that are bein sportin bout their sport! I have experienced a few combat fisheries where courtesy and good sportsmanship were the norm. I've been perusin (lurkin?) on this board ever since I discovered it (the best I've ever found, kudos to Bob and the many people who post in the spirit this started out with) I personally am sick of all the *****in n whinin about other peoples behavior. If you don't like it fish sumwhere else! Oops! Guess I shouldn't post after drinkin... Guess I better hit the hay.
Sincerely, Roger

Easy from what I've seen regarding busted rods is that some crackers always want to grab their rod above the ferrule when they get the fish in close....guaranteed "SNAP!" Sold an extra Allstar 1025c to one of those guys on the Quill....5 minutes later at my favorite spot watched another cracker do the same thing. Told him "dang dude too bad just sold my last spare rod to a guy who did the same thing 20 minutes ago." Sheesh maybe I should stock up and hang out at Kennedy Creek?

Ever notice that when someone breaks a rod everyone acts like they didn't see it happen? How many times have you seen it coming though? FJ...out.

was there yesterday as well, Think I saw you over by the 101 bridge spawnout...at least someone over there fly fishing. was a great day. Took the kids down, fish on fish on .....love that. Great fishery for the kids....and a whole lotta fun for me as well. Only had one problem with a guy with a big yellow rod, 30 lb test, a multi colored yarn ball about the size of a baseball, then he had a couple of pea sized split shot up about 12 inches. casting as hard as he could he would get about ten feet. Problem was, I was on this ledge as the tide was going out, when the tide had gone out a few feet it made another muddy little ledge about 4 feet down,he just walked right by me with his son and started fishing RIGHT in front of me, the kids and my brother in law besides that, it was a great day with alot of good people.

Reg clarification?
In the regs it shows mouth of Kennedy Creek to the 101 bridge. Salmon, river regs yadi, yadi. Then it show 101 upstream and salmon not listed.
Does this mean that no salmon fishing above 101 and is below 101 where everyone is jammed Saltwater liscense or Freshwater? Seems to be a limit of 2 which is consistant to freshwater but barbless which is consistant to salt.
I ask because my wife only bought a 2day liscense last weekend for the Zone and loved it but if we can use her freshwater and get into the chums then we will make other plans. Don't really want to foot a $20 for the next few months of Salmon for her. Thanks in advance.

up to 500 yards east of the hwy 101 bridge is considered the creek mouth and freshwater rules apply
beyond that and you are considered to be in the salt
and dont get caught fishing for salmon upstream from the bridge...bad things will happen

I was there Saturday, got there at day light, brought a friend from work. I told him i will put him in front of fish, it is up to him.
I hooked my 1st within 15 minutes. He never got a fish on long enough except to break off my leaders.
Yes, Saturday was exceptional for people to be kind and curious.
Some what not the normal, even for Kennedy.
