Does anybody use one? My friend just bought one and he says it runs on 3 "C" batteries, and that he can leave it one for 30 days straight before the batteries are dead. It was kinda spendy ($50) but if the battery life is that long it'll pay for itself in no time. It also has a super bright light, way brighter than my mag-light with new batteries.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

They're the greatest thing since sliced bread. Really. I have a single white LED light that runs on a watch battery on my keychain and it's BRIGHT. The 4 or 6 LED lights (about the size of a mini-mag) are really bright, and you can drop them on a concrete floor without the LED's burning out. He may be overstating the battery life a little if he had white LED's, but some of the other colors (red, orange) probably do last that long on a set of batteries. Beware the really cheap LED lights.......their LED's are of poor quality.

My friends flashlight is made by Browning,it's called the odyssey series. I checked out Brownings site and they claim 600hrs of continuous use, that's 25 days!

Those little Browning LED flashlights rule as far as there size is concerned. My friend has one and they are easily 2-3 times brighter then a Mini Mag light

Try a Pelican super saberlite, we use them in the fire service, so their fireman proof. That in itself say's alot. Grainger supply carries them about $25.00, oh ya their submersible too!

LED is the only way to go for both brightness and for life. We used them exclusively in aircraft interiors for their dependability and light. Look around, you will see them on buses and trucks too, for the rear mainly, but there have been a few created for headlights. Just a large cluster of LEDs.

My favorite is the tiny, but bright Pelican L1 . It's brighter than the photon type, lasts longer, and uses cheaper batteries. Has anyone tried Led Hedz ? It clips right on the bill of your baseball cap! For reviews of every LED light you can imagine, check out the LED Museum .

I to have a tikka, but will be looking for a Black Diamond soon. The tikkas are great and I think maybe a hair better on the light output then the Black Diamonds, but if your hands are wet at all when turning the tikka on and off, the switch will carrode fairly quickly, especially around saltwater. The switch for the tikkas is on top and the water runs right down you fingers to the switch, the Black Diamond is on the bottom. Either way I will never buy a incandesent flash light agin. Try buying the "Attitude" 3 LED!! The "Attitude" has 3 white LED bulbs and lasts for 150 hours of continued use. The Attitude runs on 4 AAA batteries and sells for $18.99 (includes bateries). It fits in your front or vest pocket with plenty of room to spare (most of the time you don't even know its there!)! It will survive being used in the water because it is waterproof up to 300 meters (deeper then most fishermen normally go). I have had my Attitude light for almost two years now and I have never needed to replace the 4 AAA batteries yet! You can order the Attitude Princeton Tec Attitude 4AAA LED Light (No. 55871) at http://www.campmor.com/webapp/commerce/command/CategoryDisplay?cgrfnbr=258&cgmenbr=226] It has the same type of twist on and off light switch that the old "mag" lights has so you never need to worry about getting water into it or getting the switch wet. I liked my Attitude so much that I ordered 2 more (one for me and one for my fishing buddy). These lights are small, bright, waterproof and unbelievably reliable. The light has a oval shaped to it (1/2 thick by 1 inch wide X 41/2 long) and is made of some type of tuff plastic (much easier on your teeth then those old round type metal lights) that makes it supper easy (1/2 x 1 inch) to put it into your mouth if you need to use both hands. The flat oval shape also prevents the light from rolling around if you need to lay it down flat! Some guys, like me, just can't stand to wear a head light. If you are one of those guys, then the Attitude is the right light for you! There may cheaper deals on them out there, but I am not aware of them if they exist. One more thing, this light is so bright that it can be used on your corkies! It make your corkies glow almost as good as the flashers do!! Try one…you will never regret doing so!! Ya, good point Cowlitz, my "white" LED light is a great glo charger too. It has enough UV drift to call it a white blacklight. Buy two, cause yer kid is gonna commandeer the first, heh.
