awhile ago i posted about chamber vacuum machines. i was in the market for one and ended up buying one from www.dougcare.com model # kvp-400a-10, it was 1904.00$$ deliverd and i think it weighs 160lbs. anyway its a awesome machine, i have yet to even think about having buyers remorse. you know like when you bought your first 300.00$ rod and it fished just like your 75.00$ rod. My wife thought i was an idiot but now she is using it, bags are super cheap, its always out and ready to be used, and its fast, you can do two bags at once..wet or dry it doesnt matter the only down side to this machine is its heavy so its not real portable or think of it this way someones not going to break in and run off with it...I talked to the people at dougcare and they said my kids wont wear this machine out. i vacuum sealed 140lbs of fillets and it couldnt stack in the freezer any nicer. so if your thinking about one i would do it, there pretty slick moose

fishstik: I have the Dougcare price sheet and am about to order some chamber vacuum bags...What thickness did you get? 4.0mil or 3.0mil? Did you ask them about the difference>? I used up the 4mil ones I had and never have tried a 3mil. The 3mil are really alot cheaper. I know the heavier bags are more resitant to punctures. They also have bags with a special barrier of some kind..I'm not very educated about the bags as there are many choices. My commercial chamber machine was made in Switzerland and weighs over 250 lbs and can't be moved easily and takes up alot of counter space about like a big microwave but wow what a beautiful way to preserve food.

I can get the 3mil and 4 mil bags in 1#,2#,2.5# and 5# in clear or blue tint(5#) only. for half the cost of these guys.
These bags are used for commercial grade machine.

These bags will not work on foodsavers. These are clear not micro channeled.

I can send samples if intrested of each size.

FishStik, email me or you can call me at my work.
(206) 826-1747

I will send you some samples and then you can deceide which ones if you like them.

I might even have 5 and 7 mil.
I have to check tommrow.
But the price would be the same for any mil or size. 1/2 the cost of dougcare.

Dear Santa,

I've been good this year. All I want for Christmas is a # kvp-400a-10, and some bags from Divers at half cost.

Thanks,

Parker

PS - I asked the wife if I could buy one and had to dodge some gun fire! I took that as a no! frown Oh well, my only hope is Santa! I want one!

I have a vacuum pack machine that is at least 12 years old and still going strong. Made in Germany. It's more like the min max but we paid around $4,500.00 for it way back then. It must weigh 200 pounds or so.

These machines(from Dougcare) look great and if I was to have to get another I would look at these.

We run around 5,000 to 6,000 bags a year through it.

Also, we like the 3mil bags better then the 4mil.

We have been paying quite a bit for bags and just might go here or look for some at the better price???

I would like to try some of the "try these" bags.

Thanks for the info.

Any one intrested in a commercial Vac pac.
We have one made by a company called Ryan.

Heres the catch.

It weights about 1200 lbs.
It is about the size of a Yugo and you need to have aux air (like compressor) hooked up to it.
It does run on 120v and has 5 different bag size chambers and roll for (plain roll film).

It can pump out 120 bags per min. through its auto feed. Depending on the setting it can crush a case of cans with out a sweat in seconds.

It also has tray feed so you can put your food in the round or square tray then seal it in a bag. ( by the way I can give you the trays for free about 1000 qty with a purchase of the machine or really cheap if you want them with the bags.)
This is a used vac machine but it has dated service records. It is about 2 years old, with another 8 years of warrenty left.

I do have one guy looking at it but if you are intrested it only will cost you ... $ 12,000.00. eek

My chamber machine is called a Supervac.....there is a label on the side from Smith Equipment in New Jersey..I got it used with no paperwork. The internal stuff is made in Switzerland. It is all stainless steel with a plexiglass formed lid that is about 3/4" thick. It has a vacuum adjustment dial and a heat adjustment dial that I think is for the sealing strip...the inside has about 6 thick cutting board looking pieces of dense plastic that can be removed to make the chamber bigger I guess. There is a vacuum gauge on the front and a yellow button that says ready made meals...I have never used that button. I got some 4mil bags from a small company here in Seattle and have used them up. I would definitely like to understand the machine a little more and am really interested in bags...I will email you to explore your offer on the bags...thanks for the info

Divers I am interested in your commercial Vac. Think I saw one at a fish processing expo. Is the price firm or is it negotiable? I want to get some of your bags if they are still available.
