Anybody been down there yesterday or today? Did the fresh water bring in any fresh fish?

Busy and I decided to go today and the Indians were netting. We anchored and starting getting bites and hook-ups, then the netters came to either side of us and set nets. Within 30 minutes the nets had enclosed most fish in the area. Those that weren't trapped were much less likely to bite. Hard to believe but we were skunked, save one snagged fish. I'd never seen the killing effectiveness of nets. They took everthing within the nets and caught them. The dead carcasses started drifting down to where we were anchored... cold, killing efficency.
But I'll bet you'll be able to catch fish tommorrow when they aren't netting.
BTW, we knew they were netting, I guess I had to see it for myself just how bad it was.

Here are the Jr. indians hand netting in Finch Creek. I say the Sr. indians should have to do the same thing.


At 0800, after a bong hit and a beer, the nets went in. After that most of the live fish were gone. They harvest the females and toss the males back into the water barely alive. At least they were hauling the dead chums out into the middle of the canal for disposal.



On a good note, there was a sign that said the netting will occur on Wednesday and Friday only this week. Next week, netting will be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

No Kennedy Creek report this week - went goose hunting instead last weekend. Likely the rain sucked some of the ripe one's up the creek but there should be plenty left in the salt till the end of the month. I might try it this weekend, or I might go steelhead or blackmouth fishing, or I might just stay home and shoot ducks and geese, which did come in pretty good with the rain . So many choices, so little time
