I was thinking about floating the cowlitz from blue creek to mission bar tommorrow. I have never made this float yet and I was wondering what to expect along the way. Alot of company i'm sure. thanks

It's an easy float. The corner right at BC is the only bad spot. It's running at only 2900 cfs right now so the slot is pretty small. Just keep to the inside. From there down to Mission there are some great drifts.

Good luck

That's a decent float but is a little short. I prefer mission to I-5, less people and more water.

That Blue Creek slot is a rush in a pontoon boat, but that run is really easy in the 2500CFS range.

Went there sat.
Fished blue creek to mission from 6:30 till 4:00. My friend and I got one steely each. No salmon. We saw afew other fish caught most right below blue creek in the crowd. When we were at the ramp someone told us that the silvers were still down between mission and I-5 in good numbers. But it was to late in the day to make the run down there. The silvers we saw milling around all looked pretty dark.
