i've used a bunch of different brands( i do a lot of bass fishing in the spring, it has really helped my casting accuracy, nobody likes losing a $6 crankbait) and i seem to get more strikes using a 4" sluggo.

Berkley 4" Powerbait "Steelhead Crawlers" in Bubblegum or Methiolate.....best of all the ones I've tried.

Do you fish them on a standard drift set-up? When the fish takes one,is it a subtle take or easy to feel?

I tried the jig head and pink worm today and hooked a bright fish. The only problem was the jig head hook bent and that was the end of things. Can some one please suggest a good jig head that will not bend. When you don't catch a lot of steelies, it really sucks when you loose one to a weak hook!!

I fish mine on a Owner jig hook with a couple of turns of white Schlappen feathers. Works real well for me. Fished under a bobber

Fish the 4" hooktails in bubblegum on a jighead and the 4" Berkely worms drift fishing. I've got some new jigheads (worm nose jigs) especially designed for fishing the plastic worm with barbed collars for holding the worm in place. I paint them either Bubblegum pink or hot pink and they work great.

Mmmmm, worms..... I tend to use the ****** or *****-*** worms, tied up with a 2/0 ****** barbless hook. Any color close to **** is good. They all work. I ***** fish them. PS - Oh darn, looks like Bob has implemented the worm filter again! Oh well.

What's the best way to rig up one of those worms? Do you thread the hook through it? How long of a dangling tail do you typically leave?
I did get a bite with one last weekend, but I wasn't sure if I had it rigged up correctly and the fish was only on for about 5 seconds. I had actually cut one in half ( I thought it was dangling too much whole) and threaded it through the shaft of my hook, drifting it with lead and no corky in a small fast river.
Any help is appreciated!

wazz, i personally like using the berkley power bubble gum color, im sure they all work, but i like these the best, but in a few weeks i will be making my own..i rig it using a sewing needle straight thru the body till about 1/2 inch or so left, i rig the whole 4 inch body, never hade a problem with a short strike with steelhead, you can definately feel the bite, one day using the pink worm on the puyallup i nailed 2 fish in about 5 mins using the pink, and it was the first day i had used them over here..go with either a #2 hook or # 4hook, i use the visions, need a good sharp hook..

Tie up a 2/0 ****** hook. Get a worm threader and thread your ****** or *****-*** worm like this. Keep your worm straight, or it won't fish right! Hey, this ****** worm is MISSING something!

It's missing a drift bobber. For those in the know, check out the new color...
