Headed up to do some plug pulling for silvers saturday. Had one good take down and got it to the boat a nice bright silver for fishbox. Saw a lot of fish caught but most were the color of my redwing boots (black). Great day once we made it their. Headed up the hill by mineral lake saw a big blazer rolled over in the ditch with a bunch of staters lookin it all over. I slowed down to about 35mph and could feel my van and boat sliding on the black ice. The roads were fine other than that. Most of the trip it was around 30 degrees outside then we hit morton heading uphill and it just kept getting warmer 54 degrees when we hit the water. Fished from 9 till 1330 no fog just a perfect day. I am backing the trailer down the ramp to pull my boat back out and head home. I look up at the digital thermometer in my van and it is reading 70 degrees. Now I know it wasnt that warm but it was in the direct sun and it felt like t shirt and beer weather. Then on the 2 1/2 hour trip home the temp dropped 31 degrees and we were again shrouded in fog back home in black diamond. I wonder if it will be my last bright silver of the year.

Unless you're thinking Satsop or the south sound for residents, I'm thinking not. It is December after all. But hey, if silver fishing is what gets you out of the house then who am I to discourage you. Like they say a bad day of getting skunked fishing for boot black silvers beats your best day of work.
Congrats on a nice late silver. May your Quest continue.
Flog on.

I cant give up my zipper lip boot producing hole to many more left to catch. I think I would probably get a little discouraged but the last two times out have got a fish each time and still good color to them. Just got to stay away from those shallow water bankies catching the boots swimming along the shore looking for a place to die.

Lame Guy. What are you even doing on a fishing forum website anyway if you aren't willing to help a guy out who obviously has nothing else to do but try to mimic you and your boot dragging techniques. I have to say, I wouldn't have bashed you had you helped that guy out. Now I have to clown you.

Well that is just the way it is you got to protect your boot catching holes or the whole world will show up . I will give you a clue it is somewhere in the columbia river system. Does that help or am I clowning around. I'll tell ya what i used how fast i go what type of scent , the candy bar i was eating, how many times I headed back to shore to use the honey bucket. But I just cant tell ya where.

not too hard to figure out, go to this link http://www.ci.tacoma.wa.us/tpunews/fishreport.htm ---> follow the directions in his initial message & remember , it requires a boat launch where the parking is in the sun...

Yeah I am sure their are more to be caught. I wanted to see if anyone else is still fishing for silvers. Kind of funny how a guy with two posts can get on a website like this and come to the conslusion like he did. Try and get a sense of humor I was going to point him to the spot but make it some work for him.

found some chromers today...went to a place i hadn't fished for years(and never for salmon) and a fish rolled as soon as i walked up to her...too slow to drift, tossed eggs under a float, nailed 'em...threw several different spinners and finally found what they wanted(also caught a few small cutties on size 5 vibrax)...mostly colorful fish but about 1 out of 5 were bright..all chromers were hens..didn't see or hear another person all day..it's still possible
