Braved the wind, rain, and cold to hit Reiter early this AM. It was really slow, I saw 3 fish caught from 6-9. Two winter runs, one summer. Plenty of folks, about 30 on the Reiter side. I didnt touch a thing.
One item that kinda pissed me off was when I got to the posted sign (stating that the area is open after 6am) there was no one there and it was 5:50am. So I waited for 6am and drove in with the other 6 cars behind me that were waiting until 6am also. Well what did I find when I pulled in, you got it, there were about 20 rigs in there. evil Some people apparently cant tell time, the game warden could have had himself a hey day. Im not that mad about it I just wish others would follows the rules like they should.

Is that sign meaning that you cant start fishing til 6am? or at least leave the parking area until 6am?

I dont fish there, but in the dark I think I would drive in and at least park in the lot?

I hope fishing picks up there, might give it a try once it does. smile smile

The sign says that the area is closed until 6 am, no matter how you get there (walk, ride or drive) the area within the signed area is off limits until 6 am as is the river bank also. Its been this way for a long time. I have seen 10 rigs waiting to drive in at 5:30am, its funny when the clock says go its a race to the water, some folks run like hell to get the best spots. Remember Starsky and Hutch...much the same. eek One guy even sports his bike to cut off the runners.
the parking lot is within the closed area, thus the wait at the boarder, by the BIG SIGN!!!
