Have stood in a hole casting for over an hour on a couple occasions, put the worm on and bam.

They seem to work best on wild fish. But they also work on hatchery fish. Ive heard at times they can entice lockjawed brats to bite when nothing else can.
They seem to work in all conditions from extreemly low and clear to high and dirty.
They are the wonder lure or bait or whatever you want to call them.
But honestly I am a firm believer in the theory that its no so much what you use its where you put it that counts.

Rich G Yup they work on brats, never caught a nate on one yet, but still trying Hey Rich you know your Vibrax worm combo spinner you posted on. Ever have any luck with that on silvers, or only Dollies?

I will hve to agree with rich. If your on top of some fish and are workin a run correctly placement of the bait, is the key to success. However giving a fish(es) something different to look at will 'usually' produce a strike. I have fished with those worms alot and have had very little success. However I will say that I have never began a morning with a pink worm tied on... It is always a last ditch effort when all elese fails. Go figure.

The worst thing ever invented was the pink worm, now anyone and their brother can catch a steelhead.

hey floatin, i use pink worms almost exclusively on nates, it is my go to lure, when all else fails, it wont..ive caught 2 steelies in like 5 mins on them, and also you will catch jus about every other trout species on them too, and thats the part what gets me, you never know whats hitting, atleast i dont, i jus set the hook hard and wait to see if my pole bends or a smolt come flying out of the water..

I've used the pink worm off and on without much luck. It's usually the last thing I try and I don't tend to use it for long.
I have a question for those that have used it with success. Do you just slide it on the hook, or do you also use the egg loop to rap around the head of the worm? I usually wrap the egg loop around it so that it will stay on the hook, but that seems to cause a small kink in the worm. I've always wondered if this effects its action. Maybe that's why I haven't had much luck with them.
