DEAN UNDER FIRE FROM PARTY DEMS; NEARLY ALL CASH SPENT

Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are privately bristling over Howard Dean’s management of the Democratic National Committee and have made those sentiments clear after new fundraising numbers showed he has spent nearly all the committee’s cash and has little left to support their efforts to gain seats this cycle, ROLL CALL reports.

Congressional leaders were furious last week when they learned the DNC has just $5.5 million in the bank, compared to the Republican National Committee’s $34 million.

Senate and House Minority Leaders Harry Reid (Nev.) and Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), along with the Senate and House campaign committee chairmen Charles Schumer (N.Y.) and Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), have made their concerns -- directly or indirectly -- known to Dean, claims the paper.

Emanuel was particularly upset last week upon seeing the latest DNC numbers.

“A lot of people are scratching their heads as to what’s going on,” said one senior Democratic aide.

Another Democratic source familiar with the party fundraising apparatus said there is “obvious displeasure” among the leaders.

No, Bill Clinton is in hell. Ronald Reagan should have been in jail. He was the last guy that spent Trillions of dollars we didn't have. Bill had a pretty solid economic policy. He handed boy George a surplus and 6 years later look at it.

Horse crap. Reagans policies allowed the run up under Clinton and Willy managed it well. The Surplus was a myth. The rev's where already headed in the toilet the last half of Clinton's second term and were unsustainable and they were spoken for just from normal spending before GW even spent a dime. While the spending is out of control by everyone and I beleive that all of them are tax and spend whores. Bush's economic policies are sound. Thsi hand wringing about spenid your childs future is just that hand wringing.

We should alway's be concerned about debt. It is not however the end of the world.

I guess its not the end of the world when you live in the country that is in control of the actual "end of the world". We borrow more than we lend, we buy more than we sell, we spend more than we make, we run with sissors and we sit to close to the T.V late at night. Thats been ongoing through any admin and sort of what makes us the USA.

If you make $100k a year 95% of the world makes less than you. The avg. income in the US is $50k. putting the avg american ahead of 85% of the world in imcome.

You have to decide which way you want to look at it the glass half full or half empty because if you opened the borders about 5 billiuon people would love to live like you. Are they wrong or are you?

At least the dem party is not several hundred BILLION in debt... with Japan, China and Saudi Arabia holding most of the paper.

This is all total BS. The whole damn post. You've got to learn to spin with half truths, TK. With half truths the half informed might believe your line. It's crude and sloppy when the whole post is BS.

Go to the census Stlhd and look at the income avg for the US $52k.

But for arguments sake lets take your $36 the number does not change they still make more than 85% of the world. Open the borders and see if they care about the cost of living. They are not afraid to live 10 to a 1500 Sf home and walk to work vs drive.

Who's "they"? You mean poor people? We have them here too you know. And if we don't reign in our debt an open border might just flow the other way. IMO the real war that flies right over the head of this admin is the rest of the world sitting by watching us sink into bankruptcy, spreading our military thin, sending all of our production capability, jobs, technology and even our data over seas. If you are out to knock off the world power it's getting easier by the day.
