Then I trust the Worker's Unions have your full support in regards to demanding legislature guaranteeing minimum 4 weeks paid vacation for every employee? And guaranteed paternity leave for both parents? And guaranteed health care?

That is, of course, if you're genuinely sincere in wanting what's best for the parent/child relationship.

I do NOT support Worker's Unions, I think the individual worker aught to be able to make his/her own decisions/negotiations......

If you want 4 weeks off with pay and your boss won't go for it, then go find a different job.

Would you pay your electric bill all year and accept 4 weeks of no power happily ?

Maybe you are such a valuable employee that your boss will give you 6 weeks off with pay, the Union would be taking 2 weeks away from you......

By the way, taking a little time off work to drop a baby on the table is no replacement for a full time mom, not even close. IF a woman wants to have a kid, then plan ahead and do it right, if it's not worth doing right, then don't get pregnant.

You ideals only work if you start out at a point well down the wrong path, you probably see that now don't you ?

Stupid, again for gazillienth time, not everyone has the ability or choice to go down the path that you have, get over your fixation on how the lesser among should work harder like you. It's great that you are so successful, I get it. It simply does not apply to everyone and never will until we live in that "perfect world".

Here it is again, as posted above, just read these few lines and answer the question without attacking, it is only a question....

Read a history book about the industrializing of our country and the abuse of the workers that took place during the early years. You will find your answers there. And NO, the free market economy didn't save the workers from the abuses!

Unions built our middle class which in my opinion has always been one of the strengths of America. There are many many problems with unions but the basic premise of them give hope and protection to the middle class worker.

With lack of government intervention that is what the union was designed for. Exactly why their basic tenents are sound!

Unfortunately with power comes money and over time we get to see the abuses of power. No different or less nauseating then what we are currently seeing in the political scene.

Let us ALL hope we can get balance back in the political scene sooner rather than TOO late!

Couldn't agree more, is this a segue for campaign reform??

Campaign reform is the most over due of all of our issues.

I personally believe a 3rd party with nothing to lose would be advantages to our system. Although many believe a 3rd party will open the door to many many parties and we will lose the idea of the majority?!

Actually, Krusty, if you do a little research you'll find that nearly every other modern industrialized nation guarantees their employees vacation. We do not. And you'll also learn that we, as a nation, produce less GDP on average per hour than other countries, even though we work longer hours, more days; even over Japan. We also spend more on medical, yet we are relatively sicker than other comparable nations.

And don't play that unemployment game. If we counted our unemployment the same way Europe does, our numbers would be relatively comparable.

I'm of the belief that it is at the heart of most of the challenges that I see facing our country currently. On one side, the solution doesn't look easy, on the other side, I think it is to blame for alot of corruption being exposed lately. It's a pretty ugly dilemma, I wish that could be put right up at the top of the agenda. I'll start counting right now in my head and let you know what number i'm at when the exec, house and senate actually decide to ween itself from corporate dollars.

I don't think there should be any minimum wage, nobody has to work for WalMart, I don't know how someone can accept a job and then complain about it, QUIT ! Work for someone who pays more, WalMart will pay whatever it takes to get a crew, if enough dummies will get up and go to work for a dollar a day, then that's it..........

We don't need the government involved in all this stuff, this is a free country, let the people do as they wish.
