If anyone on this Site is in the Market for a GMC truck, Steer clear of Cornforth Campbell GMC in Puyallup.

Heres what happened, I Inked out a deal on a new 06' fully loaded Duramax. I had a price: Written quote for their Truck, and a Written Price Quote for my trade in my hands when i left to go home and sleep on it.

This is when it gets ugly.

I go in there a day later, and coincidentally the salesman and the Sales manager that I had worked with were off. So I was talking to different people. I told them that I was ready to make the purchase and that I had a written quote from the day prior. To make a long story short, the sales manager that was working didnt like what he saw on the Written Offer that I had. He proceeded to tell me that they were not going to be able to give me what I had previously been quoted for my Truck as trade. We're not talking a few dollars less either. He Dropped $2500 on what they had previously put in writing as to what they would give me. He said since I was getting such a great deal on the Duramax that they couldnt give me the higher price for my trade.

I about fell over when he laid this news on me. I sat silent in disbelief that a Dealer would not honor a WRITTEN QUOTE from the day before. I told him I thought that was pretty shady, and it showed me a huge lack of integrity on the part of the dealership. His reply was only, that "it is what it is".

The owner or anyone above his head was no where's to be found, so I left stunned that a dealership that touts itself as being a 5 Star dealership would allow a customer to walk out the door and not stand behind their own written word. Even now 3 days later as Im writing this post, im in shock over what happened there.

So my salesman calls me the next day, completely oblivious to what had happened the day prior. I tell him what happened and he too is stunned and said he would go talk to the Owner Dave Campbell and see what he could do for me. He called me later on and said that the owner was willing to up my trade by $500, which was now $2000 less than the original quote. And further stated that that was the best he could do....... Here I was again in that, WOW is this seriously happening stooper. So now the actual owner of the dealership wont honor an actual written deal that one of his sales managers worked up for me.... Talk about lack of Integrity..

I guess this is why so many of us hate to deal with Car dealerships. Some of them Are SHHHAADYY, and I think this one is at the top of the pack. I have made several new car purchases, and never before have i seen where a dealership wont stand behind their own quote's....

So, Please consider shopping elsewhere as this dealership probrably carries this attitude over into all aspects of their operation besides just sales. You wont be able to hold them to their word on anything that goes on there, from sales to service. It seems they are not of the type that strives to make it "right" with the customer.

Im getting the word out, so hopefully none of you will have a similar situation at this shady dealership. There are plenty of other dealers out there that value their customers, and are above board in their business practices.

Feel free to PM or e-mail me for the longer version of this story. It truely is a terrible thing when the managment/ownership team at a prominent business like this has no integrity.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For me the story does have a happy ending. I have made a purchase of said truck from Rotters' GMC in Olympia and my experience has been 100% the opposite with them. They have treated me like a king, and have gone way beyond in getting me the exact truck I wanted, by doing a dealer trade and helping me with the logistics of getting some stuff added to the truck for me. Truely, Rotter's Is a dealership that values their customers. I got an outstanding price, and a very fair price for my trade. I'll be picking it up Monday, then probrably shortly there after to Les Schwab for some Wheels/tires

Sounds like business as usual for any new vehicle dealership.

It's nothing compared to to the stuff used car dealers pull.

When I bought my F-250 powerstroke I went online and ordered it from the factory. The only thing I did at the dealership was pick it up.

Olybirds, I hope you have printed out your post and the results of your trip to Olympia. Send copies to the Dave Campbell fellow and the better business bureau, and the varius local newspapers. Should be interesting. Wear your dirtiest shoes for a few days. I suspect that someone will be around to lick your boots.

It's typical of car dealers and just one of many tactics to part you from your money. My last purchase, a new car for my wife, we decided exactly what we wanted, test drove one then I emailed all the dealers on one email listing what I wanted and that I was willing to buy tomorrow for the right price. I started an instant bidding war and the bid that won out was willing to drive the car to me for signing. I will never set foot on a dealership to haggle again.

Dan S: $#$$ Off I havent drank in three years.

Aunty M: A lot of Legit Taxidermist that do it for a living are sick and tired of NON LICENSED garage THROUGHT CUTERS.
This is my living, and when you go and use pms to screw guys it is BS. If you look at any web site, the price of birds are 165- 175. doing them for 80 is BS, you don’t make any money, all you do is drive the price down and push shops that are Legit out of business. I give allot you guys and gals Sh!t on this BB cause its fun. And except for 3 guys, I would give every one a good deal. but I wouldn’t hurt my fellow taxidermists. Driving the prices down just for a hobby, and to do so is just plain stupid. So what goes around comes around.

wow, this is sort of a blind side rant my Aix.

I guess he is mad because he's a taxidermist and is having trouble being successfull.

I think this is all stemming from the Gamefishin.com BB where there was a 18 year old kid who shot his first ever woodduck this past fall. I ended up offering to mount it up for FREE for him because he was very excited about his trophy. At 18, and being a really good Kid I thought I'd do him a huge favor.

Myybe your focus should be on putting out excellent product and not worry about what others are doing.

So how much do you charge for a fish??? $12-15 and inch?

Do you think DaVe Campbell the Fish taxidermist or Luke Filmer are crying because you charge less??

So it seems there is some Ill will from Aix, since he didnt get the job. Guess I took food off his table or something.
This is old news Aix. I mounted his Woody back in January. Chad is a nice kid and deserved a nice looking mount. I wish other 18 year olds were into hunting and fishing like he is, instead of tweaking on meth and breaking into cars.

I doubt me mounting a couple of birds for frieds is taking food off your table.

BTW I got the same deal at another dealer, by shopping around and finding good people who want to provide a great product at a great price. MAybe you should look in the mirror as to why your business is struggling, and not post Sheit on BB's about it and place blame on others.

Besides Im still 7 months out. But your just a punk. and you know damed well you email every one that has contacted me. And I charge 25-30 and inch For fish as well, depinding if your site members or not . Im not afraid of compition as long as its legal.. AND YOU KNOW YOUR NOT. (I have seen your work no wories there)

What would you respond with if the guy told the kid with a nice bird to pay for the materials and he would teach him how to mount his own birds ? Wouldn't that be just horrible !

What is it with you guys being "7 months out" anyway, I think it's a lame marketing gimmick, nobody's that slow nor that busy.

No just facts, how about I start a crew and go to your work, and tell your boss we will do your job for half the price or free? there is no differance.
