I hope that it is okay for me to post this here. If not, administration can delete it. I've been a lurker here for awhile and want to recommend a book I think some of you might like. It was written by a fisherman here in Gloucester about his life as a lobsterman and also fishing for tuna and other fish. The book is F/V Black Sheep by Mark S. Williams. You can read samples from the book on his web site.

It's a very exciting book and I think anyone who loves fishing would love this book.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if we are supoosed to be promoting books over here or on the classifieds page, but if you want a really good read about work at sea, try "Working On The Edge" by Spike Walker. I've never met the guy, but he sure knows what it's like fishing in the harsh Bering Sea and writes in a way that keep you turning pages.

Check it out, welcome to the board

Its probably easier to get away with promoting your book, tackle, or whatever you want to sell if you participated prior to putting up your free ad. Even better would be to pay the owner for some advertising space.

Otherwise, it looks like an interesting book.

Sorry, if I offended anyone. I originally came to this site because I was looking for discussions about fishing on the Great Lakes --- especially Lake Erie. But you don't seem to have a forum for that part of the country.

I posted about this on the other board I post on, The Hull Truth, and everyone said they appreciated the lead so I thought you might as well.

Like I said, if it is inappropriate, please delete it.

Its not inappropriate. And you have to try a little harder if you really want to offend people. I can give you lessons on how.

We have a couple guys that post about fishing steelies in the Great Lakes. In fact the pics those guys put up are some of the prettiest brightest fish we see all year.

I would encourage you to post your steelhead reports and what your fishing with. Some of that info might turn out to be useful to a few guys.
