I am new to the world of drift boating and thinking of floating the Kalma some time this year. I am wondering if the kalma would be an easy river to row.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Floating the Kalama from Pritchards to Modrow is a great drift. No real tough water. The water is real high right now so that could change but once the water drops you should have a great run.

From Pritchards down is a drift you won't forget. Even though the Kalama is one of those rivers you can fish as well from the bank as you can from a boat, it is a wonderful drift. Not a technical stretch but it's riffle to run all the way. Alot of fun. Higher the water, the funner and safer it is for the first time. Starting out, the Pritchards drop will wake you up going down for the first time if the coffee didn't. But when you're fishin' the waterfall hole you'll know why you brought the boat in the first place. Good luck and don't leave any oar prints.
